Description
This is a 1977 MG MGB finished in white paint over black vinyl interior. This MGB was originally finished in gold paint and was refinished in white. This vintage British roadster is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-4 cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission.
British Motor Corporation’s MGB was produced from 1962 to 1980. This vehicle is currently registered in Alberta with an active and (Normal) registration status. The analog SMITH'S 5-digit odometer reads approximately 94K-miles.
For US bidders, this MGB is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
The MGB’s unique exterior design features chrome window bezels, door handles and body side mouldings, along with recessed round headlamps, and taillight fins. The front fascia has a long nose and recessed grille with MG badging. The bumpers are made of shock absorbing black rubber. Orange and amber reflector lights are mounted beneath the character lines.
A raised chrome luggage rack centres the trunk lid which also has a pronounced chrome handle. The black soft top folds down revealing the roadster appearance.
The MGB rides on 14” Rostyle wheels wrapped in Pirelli 400 tires, P175/70R14 all around with MG centre caps. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear
The cabin features textured black vinyl seating for two with a black dash and centre armrest. Black carpeting completes the interior along with MG branded wood shift knob.
The console also features a Kenwood head unit and a cigarette lighter. A four-spoke MG-branded steering wheel fronts analog instrumentation with a 7K rpm tachometer to the left and a 120 mph speedometer to the right, with auxiliary gauges and indicator lights surrounding.
The glove compartment locks and fits beneath the padded dash.
Various service records and documents are included in the gallery below along with many undercarriage photos. Notably the records show an ignition system overhaul in 2008, a new starter at 83k-miles, and a new differential and exhaust overhaul in 2017.
An aftermarket Auto power Street Roll Bar has been added for chassis rigidity and increased passenger safety. The 1976 MG MGB Roadster is powered by a 1.8-liter BMC B-series inline-four cylinder engine paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels. This engine is rated at 63 horsepower at 5,500 rpm, and 86 lb-ft of torque at 2,500 rpm, when new. Suspension utilises wishbones and coil springs at the front and a rigid axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs at the rear, with anti-roll bars and lever shock absorbers at both ends.
