Description
Presented here is a 1985 Subaru BRAT featuring a silver exterior with striking red graphics and a blue upholstery. It is equipped with a 1.8-liter flat-four engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
Noteworthy features include a push-button radio, a sliding rear window, rear-facing jump seats, crank windows, and removable roof panels. While an aftermarket Alpine head unit has been installed, the original stereo will be included in the sale.
The BRAT is being offered by a private seller located in Auburn, Washington, and comes with a clean Washington title.
The seller mentions he purchased the Brat from the original owner and is the second known custodian. The seller has added a few period correct modifications including an OEM front push bar (paint matched to the wheels). Along with a custom roll bar for the rear facing passengers which is also finished in white.
The truck bed of this vehicle has been treated with a spray-on bedliner material, providing a durable and protective coating. It is equipped with dual rear-facing jump seats that have seat belts for added safety. Exterior features include a sliding rear window, 4WD badges, finned lower body molding, and bright accents on the bed trim and bumpers.
The seller has mentioned the presence of paint chips on the front end of the vehicle, as well as some pitting in the windshield.
The interior features blue vinyl seats with gray fabric inserts, along with blue door panels and gray carpets. A two-spoke steering wheel frames stock instrumentation including an 85-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer.
The six-digit odometer displays approximately 93k miles, around 30k of which were added under current ownership.
As previously mentioned, an Alpine aftermarket head unit has been added and the original will accompany the sale which has been pictured in the gallery below.
When originally manufactured, the 1.8-liter flat-four engine generated a power output of 73 horsepower. In the engine compartment, there is a spare wheel and tire assembly. The power from the engine is transmitted to either the front wheels or all four wheels, depending on the driver's preference, utilizing a four-speed manual transmission and a transfer case that can be selected by the driver.
According to the seller, several components of the BRAT have been recently replaced, including the thermostat, water pump, front right CV axle, front struts, rear shocks, and rear brake calipers.
