Description
This is a 1985 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat finished in two-tone Candy Apple Red (paint code #M2008) and White over a Medium Dark Fire Red interior. This rear wheel drive pickup is powered by a 302 ci V8 engine mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. This engine was a new crate engine installed at approx. 189k-kms. This Ford square body is currently registered in Saskatchewan with an active and (Normal) status and 219K-km on the odometer. Ford’s seventh generation F-150 ran from 1980 to 1986, becoming the best-selling truck in the United States. The seller shares that this was his Grandfather’s truck and bought new, making this a one-family find.
For US bidders, this F-150 is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
This Candy Apple Red styleside F-150 XLT square body has an egg crate grille with an oval Ford emblem at its centre. Headlights and turn signal lights are stacked rectangular units. The front fascia is entirely housed in chrome, accompanied by a chrome bumper. The wheel arches are complemented by chrome bone lines running the length of the truck. There is a crack in the windshield that runs down the middle.
F-150 XLT emblems, low mount swing away side mirrors, and Explorer emblems embellish the body sides, which are also equipped with aluminium running boards. A chrome rear step bumper is found at the back along with Ford script set within a red tail light bar - the D is missing from the badge. Rust and paint chipping is present and viewable in the gallery.
The interior of this F-150 in XLT Lariat trim is Medium Dark Fire Red, with a cloth bench seat, red felt and leather door panels, and imitation wood accents on the steering wheel and instrument panel. Raised white and black numbers set against a textured black background display the 140 km/hr speedometer and 6K redline tachometer.
The doors are fitted with map pockets and lovely bright chrome trim. Chrome is also used for the handles and switches for the power locks and windows.
Other notable features include the padded dash, 3-speed heater/defroster, cut pile carpeting, matching red sun visors, and a sliding rear window.
This F-150 is powered by a 302 ci (5.0-liter) V8 paired to a three-speed automatic transmission. This 302 was a new crate engine and was installed at 190,790 km which is rated at 185 horsepower at 3,800 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque at 2,400 rpm when new. The independent front suspension is a Twin-I-Beam design with a 4.10:1 limited slip differential.
