Description
This is a 2000 Land Rover Defender D90 that is powered by a 2.4-litre TDCi engine that has been paired to an aftermarket 4-speed automatic transmission. The Engine from new requires a six-speed gearbox for emissions regulations which is a lot of gears for a Defender so pairing it to a 4-speed automatic suited the Defender chassis better. This Defender is finished in a Gunmetal grey exterior with a black and grey leather interior. The defender is currently registered in the province of British Columbia by the selling dealer with an Active and (Normal) registration status.
This vehicle underwent an impressive frame-off restoration costing approximately $175k CAD, including a galvanized frame. The truck was refinished in a striking shade of gray, with full length rear windows, a cargo door, and black wheel arch flares. Notable exterior features include LED exterior lighting, a tow ball, side-step, and fold-down sidesteps.

To pair the 2.4 engine with an automatic transmission, the well-proven ZF 4HP22EH autobox was selected, known for its reliability in P38 Range Rovers and Series 2 Discoverys. A specific kit was chosen to fit the auto box, and a crank boss and flexplate assembly were designed and manufactured. To optimize the auto-box performance, a dedicated control unit called the Compushift was installed. This controller receives input from various sensors, including the throttle position sensor, speed sensor, and gear position switch, allowing it to select the appropriate gear according to preset maps. This setup ensured seamless gear transitions throughout the driving experience.
The 16" Land Rover 5-spoke wheels finished in black are fitted with Goodyear Wrangler tires (size: 235/85R16), and a matching spare is mounted on the back. Four-wheel disc brakes provide reliable stopping power.

Inside, the truck boasts a luxurious Alcantara headliner and custom edge-to-edge rear glass, creating a panoramic roof. An aftermarket air conditioning unit has been professionally installed, ensuring a comfortable ride. New heated leather seats, power windows, and power locks add to the vehicle's modern amenities.
The dash has been upgraded to a late model Defender, a $15,000 enhancement. The six-passenger seating arrangement offers ample space for occupants. Additionally, a brand new SONY Bluetooth audio system with a backup camera provides entertainment and convenience during travels. This vehicle represents a true labor of love and attention to detail, offering both style and performance in a unique package.

The 2402cc TDCi engine utilized advanced technology, including four valves per cylinder, twin overhead cams, common rail fuel injection, and a Garrett variable geometry turbocharger. This engine achieved exceptional throttle response and torque availability across its rev range, making it the quietest engine ever used in the Defender, thanks to combustion developments and solenoid-actuated fuel injectors. The ability to turn a higher top gear further contributed to its smooth performance.
