Description
This is a 2004 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG wagon finished in obsidian black metallic paint (paint code:197). This E55 AMG is offered for sale privately by the seller and it is currently located in Surrey, British Columbia. The seller is the first Canadian based owner of the wagon after importing it from Japan in 2023. It has been registered in British Columbia since and the seller has added approx. 1500-kms. Factory highlights include roof-rack rails, a power operated rear trunk storage compartment, cruise control, a powered sunroof, airmatic air suspension, heated and power operated front seats and 8-piston AMG front brake calipers with 4-piston rears. For US bidders, being a Japanese import and under 25 years-old, this wagon cannot be directly imported to the US. If a US buyer would like to import this wagon, it would need to be federalized by bringing into US DOT and EPA compliance with a registered importer.
Some undercarriage photos and various videos of the wagon are included in the gallery below. The wagon’s exterior features Keyless entry, dual headlights with recessed lower fog lights and an AMG aerodynamic body kit. Chrome fender and trunk badges are found around the exterior and parktronic sensors are found in the front and rear bumpers. The exterior and interior are said to be completely original and free of any modifications.
The original AMG 18” 5-spoke dual-slat wheels keep the wagon planted. The front wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires measuring 245/40R18 and the rears measure 265/35R18. The seller notes imperfections including curb rash on all four wheels. There are small rock chips on the front end and a small circular dent on the driver-side passenger door.
The exhaust is expelled out of a true-dual & quad-polished tipped exhaust system. The interior of the wagon is trimmed in black leather on the door cards and front/rear seats. The wagon comes complete with all the original trunk tie-downs and this wagon was optioned with the hidden rear storage compartment. Completing the interior wood trim inlaid to the dashboard, centre console and door cards. A Harman Kardon speaker system provides sound for the passengers. The multifunctional four-spoke steering wheel fronts a white-faced gauge cluster featuring a 320km/h speedometer and a 7k rpm tachometer. The seller mentions that recent maintenance includes the replacement of the main battery with a Motomaster OE Plus Group 49 (H8/L5) 12 Volt 95Ah, as well as the alternator. An oil change was performed, and all fluid levels, belts, and brakes were checked. The tire tread measures 7.1mm in the front and 7.9mm in the rear. The brake pads have 9mm of material in the front and 10mm in the rear, while the rotor thickness is 34mm in the front and 25mm in the rear.
The included recent Carfax report shows no history of any accident or claims and the seller notes that the Wagon achieved an auction Grade 4B when purchased from Japan. The seller notes while in Japan at 124k-kms the Front left and right air suspension strut were replaced along with the air compressor.
Powering the AMG wagon is a 5.4L supercharged V8 engine which was handbuilt at the AMG factory in Alfalterbach, Germany. A plaque mounted on the IHI-developed twinscrew supercharger shows the engine builder’s name and signature. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission.
