Description
This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle sport coupe underwent a transformation circa 2018, receiving a vibrant yellow repaint with a distinctive purple frame and housing a custom-built 454ci V8 engine. The three-speed TH400 automatic transmission underwent reported modifications, including the installation of a 2,500-rpm stall torque converter. Enhancements extended to the addition of a stainless-steel dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers, tubular headers, 15″ Ridler wheels, and a B&M shifter. Procar bucket seats were later incorporated in 2022, along with power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering, shaved door handles, and a Delco push-button AM radio. This Chevelle is now available with Ontario registration in the seller's name.
For US bidders, this Chevelle is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport in Canda/USA and Import, please visit our Transport/Import page here.
In the exterior realm, the door handles and trunk lock were shaved, and a yellow repaint was executed in 2018, following the replacement of quarter panels, trunk pan, wheel wells, and floors. Notable additions included "SS454" badging and a re-chromed exterior trim. The 15″ Ridler five-spoke alloy wheels, wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires installed in May 2023, contribute to the visual appeal.
Braking is managed by power-assisted front discs with purple calipers and purple-finished rear drums, complemented by power steering and a front sway bar. The brakes underwent reported refreshment, and shocks and ball joints were replaced in 2018.
The interior showcases black trim, purple carpets, and Procar front bucket seats added during the current ownership. Upgrades extend to replacement three-point front seat belts, a floor-mounted B&M shifter, Chevrolet-logo floor mats, a heater, and a Delco push-button AM radio. The three-spoke steering wheel presides over a dashboard featuring a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, and an analog clock, accompanied by readouts for amperage, fuel level, and coolant temperature.
The odometer displays 2k miles, with approximately 700 added under current ownership, while the total mileage remains unknown.
Under the hood, the 454ci V8 boasts a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake manifold, chrome valve covers, and tubular headers. The engine, reportedly assembled with Keith Black pistons, underwent wiring harness replacement during installation. The engine bay is accentuated with purple-finished details on the radiator support, hood hinges, and other trim. Routine maintenance in May 2023 included a battery replacement and an oil change. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a three-speed TH400 automatic transmission, reportedly modified with a 2,500-rpm stall torque converter. The undercarriage components, including the rear axle, front suspension, and frame, showcase a consistent purple finish.
