Description
This 1984 VW Westfalia Vanagon Camper is finished in Pastel White (paint code #L90D) over a brown and green striped cloth interior. It is powered by a 1.9-liter water-cooled and fuel-injected flat-four paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The Westfalia Vanagon was built on Volkswagen’s Type 2 T3 platform. The Carfax in the gallery shows no history of accidents, and three owners. It was originally purchased in Colorado and imported to Canada in 2003. This VW Westfalia Vanagon Camper is registered in Quebec with an active and (Normal) status, and approx. 119K-miles showing on the odometer, though the included Carfax reports some inconsistency with the mileage reported.
For US bidders, this VW Westfalia Vanagon is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
This VW Westfalia Vanagon features a black grille centred by a chrome VW emblem, chrome bumpers with black rubber end caps, and a front lip spoiler. The headlights have aftermarket white halo LEDS added, with high and low beams. An amber halo is emitted for turn signals and emergency lights. At the rear, a third brake light and a 6” LED light bar are installed.
Chrome drip rails line the body sides, and a luggage rack atop the driver’s cab comes with tie down bungees. The fibreglass roof comes with a pop top equipped with a plastic window and a mosquito net. The rear window wiper is a factory upgrade.
The Vanagon rides on telephone-dial style 16” steel wheels with VW centre caps wrapped in Kumho Solus all season tires, 205/60R16 with disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. Four moulded plastic fender liners protect the body and chassis and make for a quieter drive. Four moulded plastic mud flaps protect against dirt and road rash. A 1.25 tow hitch is installed.
Inside the cabin, seating for four is upholstered in brown and green striped cloth (Van Dyck KW). The doors, dash, and carpets are dark brown. A back up camera is installed and wired to a 7” retractable touch screen. An aftermarket stereo and 4 LED lights are also installed. The front seats are swivelling buckets, and the rear seats are a bench that folds down to make a rock n roll bed.
Camping amenities include cupboards and drawers, a two flame gas stove cooktop, a freshwater tank, a wardrobe, two tables, a sink, and a mini fridge. A diode control display on the kitchen unit displays fresh water tank level, battery charge level, and an indicator for when the fridge is running on gas. Sliding windows come with curtains that tie down.
The steering wheel is on a collapsible column and fronts a 100 mph speedometer.
The 1984 VW Westfalia Vanagon Camper is powered by a 1.9-liter horizontally opposed overhead valve Water-Boxer engine with hydraulic valve lifters, a light alloy crankcase and cylinder head with wet cast iron cylinder sleeves, a crankshaft mounted on three main bearings, a pump driven oil pressure system, and digital AFC fuel injection with closed-loop Lambda sensing. This is mated with a 4-speed manual driving the rear wheels. This engine is factory rated at 82 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque when new. Suspension is a four-wheel independent design with front upper and lower control arms, rear semi-trailing arms, coil springs, and double action shock absorbers.
