Description
This classic Impala boasts a striking Metallic Blue finish, originally purchased in 1972 in Saskatchewan. Two years ago, the seller acquired the vehicle, bringing it to Calgary and registering it in the province. Included in the sale is its factory wheels and tires, along with a basket of spare miscellaneous original parts for added buyer convenience. The 1972 Impala model introduced notable design updates, including a lower height grille that extended below the bumper and revised taillights, now neatly set in the bumper, adding to its timeless charm.
For US bidders, this Impala is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
Recent service included changing the engine and transmission oil, along with spark plugs and ECU tuning.
The top of the coupe was originally white vinyl but during a recent repaint in metallic blue the vinyl was removed, and paint matched with the other panels. A common practice among restored cars as the fully painted exterior really sets it off from the original look.
Chrome door trim is featured around the exterior along with dual headlights and chrome bumpers.
Aftermarket 5-spoke American racing chrome wheels have been fitted with Goodride SU318 H/T tires measuring 215/60/R17 in the front and 235/60/R17 in the rear.
Inside the cabin, you'll find light blue cloth and vinyl upholstery gracing the two rows of bench seating, complemented by matching blue door panels. The dashboard stands out in a contrasting black finish, while the carpets don a pleasant shade of blue.
The front bench boasts power adjustability for added comfort. Notable interior features include elegant woodgrain trim, lap belts, and carpeted floor mats that add to the overall refinement.
An aftermarket Kenwood head-unit takes care of entertainment needs. While the original auxiliary gauges are present, they are currently non-functional and not set up.
Taking center stage, the two-spoke steering wheel presents a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a clock. Keeping track of mileage, the five-digit odometer shows a reading of ~67k-miles.
Powering the vehicle is a robust 350ci V8 engine, topped with a two-barrel carburetor, and efficiently propelling the rear wheels through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. The seller has made notable enhancements, including an aftermarket ignition system, chrome valve covers, and the installation of a long tube headers straight pipe dual exhaust system. Additionally, an Edelbrock carburetor has been added to further enhance the engine's performance. For a closer look at the vehicle's undercarriage, additional photos are thoughtfully provided in the gallery.
