Description
This 1979 Porsche 924 represents one of the 1,292 Sebring ’79 limited-edition models crafted to honor the manufacturer’s contemporary racing triumphs. As a Canadian specification vehicle, it is presently registered in Alberta with an active and Normal registration status. Propelled by a 2.0-liter inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transaxle, the car showcases a striking Guards Red exterior paired with black leatherette and a gray cloth interior. Notable features include 14″ eight-spoke alloy wheels, pop-up headlights, a removable sunroof, fog lights, a cassette stereo, and a heater. Owned for a year and presently in its fourth ownership, notably, it distinguishes itself further as a custom order, eschewing the plaid interior for a unique grey tweed. Originally designated for the Canadian market with an odometer calibrated in miles, the car boasts import stickers supporting its Canadian market status.
For US bidders:
This 924 is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old and it is also originally a US-spec vehicle. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
Maintaining its factory finish in Guards Red, the car boasts original paint adorned with Sebring Sebring edition-specific factory stripes and scripts. Additional features comprise pop-up headlights, a removable sunroof, power-adjustable mirrors, an electric antenna, black front and rear bumperettes, and a singular exhaust outlet. The vehicle rides on black pressure-cast 14″ eight-spoke alloy wheels with polished lips, clad in 185/70 Goodride Radial RP26 tires, and braking is executed by front discs and rear drums.
Inside, the front and rear seats are adorned in black leatherette with gray cloth inserts, complemented by matching door panels. Technological enhancements include an Alpine head unit, a three-speaker sound system, power windows, and an efficient heater. The four-spoke steering wheel encompasses a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level.
Displaying a five-digit odometer reading of 72k-miles, the car retains its authenticity. Minor imperfections include a small dent below the rear left signal light and a dent on the right front quarter panel, each documented with accompanying pictures
Under the hood lies a robust 2.0-liter inline-four, featuring Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, delivering the factory-rated 110 horsepower and 111 lb-ft of torque. Power is directed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Recent maintenance, including a 2022 tune-up, cooling fan and relay replacement, oil change, rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders replacement, master cylinder replacement, and additional brake shoe replacement, underscores its well-maintained condition.
