Description
This is a 1995 Land Rover Defender 90 North American Specification (NAS) and it is one of approximately 1 of 500 produced for the model year, this one being #74 specifically. As per the included original window sticker, it was sold new in 95’ to Lazarus Freres & Co. Inc. located in New York, USA. The Defender had an original MSRP of $32,000 USD when new. The Defender is currently registered in British Columbia, Canada with an active and (Normal) status. The included recent Carfax report shows a clean history without any accidents or claims.
For US bidders, this defender is is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. It can also be imported duty-free as it was sold new in the USA. For more information on transport in Canda/USA and Import, please visit our Transport/Import page here.
The Defenders exterior is finished in Coniston green paint which is said to be original. The paint was said to have been professionally corrected, polished and sealed in preparation of the sale. The roof breaks up the green with a white finish and integrated window panels. The Defenders body panels are an aluminum construction which saved weight and fought rust. The NAS models featured a steel roll cage installed from factory. Other exterior features include satin black painted wheel arches, sliding rear windows, an aluminum riveted and stamped Land Rover plaque, mud-flaps, Gloss black-painted front and rear bash bars and a rear hatch mounted spare wheel/tire.
The wheels are silver painted 16” five-spoke alloys that wear a recently installed set of BF Goodrich Mud-terrain T/A KM tires. These tires measure 265/75/R16 on all four wheels.
The interior is trimmed in grey cloth on the front and rear seats. The inward-facing rear seats fold up completely opening up the rear for a larger storage space. The analog cluster shows just under a 142k-miles which is believed to be accurate and functioning correctly. The two-spoke steering wheel, fronts a multi-gauge cluster with sized-emphasis put on the speedometer placed to the right. The speedometer is an analog unit showing a top speed of 110mph and Kph is also shown in the inner ring.
The interior is said to be all original and passenger amenities include heat, a locking centre console, side-step to get in and out, an analog centre clock, and a Lev-O-Gage. The dashboard is a two-tone charcoal/light grey design. The original toolkit is included and pictured, along with various original manufacturers literature documents.
The Defender is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.9-litre V8 engine. The selling owner recently replaced the mid and rear section of the exhaust with a stainless system. Power is sent from the V8 engine through a 5-speed manual transmission to all four wheels via a dual-range transfer case. Corrosion is noted on the undercarriage and various pictures are provided in the gallery.
