Description
This is a 2006 BMW E46 M3 finished in Laguna seca blue (paint code: 448). The laguna paint is not this M3’s original colour as it was repainted approximately a year and a half ago from its original colour carbonschwarz metallic (paint code: 416). An invoice for the repaint is included in the gallery below. The S54 motor is notorious for two issues, its rod bearings and Vanos pump failure. Both issues have been preventatively repaired on this M3 by utilizing a Beisin VANOS kit and a VAC Motorsports rod bearings kit. Invoices for the parts have been included in the gallery below.
Under a previous ownership in 2013 this M3 was involved in a collision which issued it a salvage title. The M3 was then rebuilt, passed inspection and issued a rebuilt registration. The M3 is currently registered in Alberta, Canada with a (rebuilt) status. The seller has owned the M3 for approximately 2 years and added approx. 8k-kms. In 2004 BMW updated the E46 M3 with LED-taillights and various other subtle improvements. The exterior features M3-specific fender vents with "M3" emblems, fog lights, and a true quad polish tipped muffler. Highlights of the factory equipment include Xenon headlights, heated and power-adjustable front sport seats, a Harman/Kardon premium sound system, a ski bag, the cold weather package and a power sunroof. Pictures of the undercarriage are viewable in the gallery and a walk-around, acceleration and warm rev’s video of the M3 are viewable below. Exterior modifications included an Active Autowerks cat-back exhaust system, Angel eyes LED ring lights, A “Stoptech Big-brake-kit” featuring two piece rotors and 6-pot front/4-pot rear callipers and a CSL-style trunk lid. The seller mentions the original trunk lid is included in the sale.
The seller replaced the original wheels in favour of a set of tin black19” mesh wheels wrapped the Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 225/40ZR19 in the front and 255/40ZR19 in the rear. The original 19” wheels are included in the sale as well.
The cabin is finished in black Nappa leather with Titan Shadow trim on the dashboard, centre console and door cards. The seller mentions that the original shift knob has been replaced with an OEM BMW ZCP weighted & illuminated shift knob and leather boot. The seller added an 8” touchscreen head-unit with integrated Apple CarPlay and a backup camera.
An “M” leather-wrapped wheel commands the M3 and it is multi-functional with cruise control, voice command, volume controls etc. The digital dash has a 300 km/h speedometer and the odometer indicates just over 85k-kms.
Powering the M3 is a 3.2-litre inline 6-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. Mated to the S54B32 engine is a 6-speed manual gearbox. The head of the engine features variable valve-timing technology (named VANOS), it also has independent throttle bodies for each cylinder.
