Description
This is a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI finished in the classical Subaru livery of World Rally Blue Pearl (paint code: 02C) paired with factory-Gold BBS wheels. The colorway hearkens back to the livery worn during Subaru’s glory days dominating the world rally stage with drivers like Colin McCrae, Richard Burns and Petter Solberg. This example is a US-spec vehicle that was sold new in North Dakota and imported to Canada in 2006 by the original owner. The included Carfax shows no records of any accidents or insurance claims.
The seller has included comprehensive service records throughout the vehicle’s history. In the last 10k-miles alone, records indicate $19,000+ spent in maintenance. Highlights of which included a new engine, turbo, and clutch, which were all OEM parts and replaced at the Subaru dealership of Prince George.
For US buyers this STI can be re-imported to the USA without hesitation as it is a US-specification vehicle. The WRX and STI models feature a widened front and rear body design to widen its track and more closely resemble the rally cars used by Subaru at the time. The exterior features an aluminum hood with a functional hood-scoop feeding a top-mount intercooler, HID headlights, a large trunk mounted spoiler, and gold-finished Brembo brake calipers which are four-piston front and two-piston rear. Gold-finished 17″ BBS wheels are wrapped in what are said to be “Like-new” Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS tires with 2022 dates codes measuring 225/45R17 on all four corners.
The 2006 model year brought a facelift to the GD-Impreza chassis (2002-2007) with the introduction of a front-end remodel including a new headlight/front bumper design along with an additional secondary spoiler mounted atop the rear window. This front-end design was nicknamed the “Hawkeye” which proceeds the “Blog-eye” and “Bug-eye” generations nicknamed before it.
The exterior is said to be all original apart from the addition of Rally armour mudflaps and STI branded valve stem caps (which are easily reversible).
To keep the STI planted and improve handling, the seller has added OEM STI S204 “Pink” suspension along with OEM STI S204 “Pink” pillow ball trailing arms. A new COBB stainless cat-back exhaust has been added as well.
The original window sticker is included in the sale and shows a total suggested retail price of $33,620 USD when new. The interior of the STI features a Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD), automatic climate control, cruise control, aluminum pedal covers, power windows, mirrors, and locks. OEM black STI floormats are included in the sale along with the original blue cloth floormats.
A pioneer AVH-P4400BH touchscreen and Bluetooth head unit has been added with a custom wallpaper. Pictures showing close-ups of the seat bolsters are included in the gallery. The leather wrapped three-spoked STI steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates approx. 100k-miles.
Three keys and two fobs are included in the sale, although the seller notes the fobs aren’t programmed and two of the keys aren’t cut.
The turbocharged 2.5-liter EJ257 flat-four was factory rated at 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain is free from aftermarket modification and is in OEM specification. As previously mentioned, this engine was replaced at 90k-miles along with the clutch and turbocharger. Other maintenance highlights in the last 10k-miles include new brake rotors and pads, S204 suspension, engine oil, transmission fluid, differential fluid, sway-bar end links, trailing arms, cat-back exhaust, blower motor, cabin filter, engine filter, battery, etc. Power is routed to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle, a driver-controlled center differential, and limited-slip front and rear differentials.
