Description
This 1990 Yamaha RZ350, located in Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, is a rare and iconic two-stroke motorcycle registered in the seller's name with an active and normal British Columbia registration status. The RZ350, also known as the RD350LC in some regions, was available in various markets and configurations from 1983 to 1995. This particular model, finished in Yamaha blue, is a standout example, especially rare in the North American market. It represents the last of the factory-imported two-strokes for North America and is highly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors alike.
For US bidders:
This RZ350 is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
The seller has owned this bike for 13 years and has ridden it sparingly, adding only 1,100 kilometers during that time.
The bike has always been in British Columbia, with no known accidents, claims, or paintwork. It remains entirely original except for the tires and brake lines, with the original tires included in the sale.
In February 2024, the bike underwent a comprehensive service by Mile Zero Motorcycles in Ladysmith, BC, which included carburetor rebuilding, brake system overhauls, and fluid replacements. Prior to this, the service history was minimal, reflecting the bike's limited use.
This RZ350 is equipped with Yamaha’s first exhaust power valve, designed to tame the peaky nature of two-stroke engines.
The bike features a trellis-style perimeter frame, decent suspension, and triple disc brakes, making it a delight to ride on both canyons and racetracks.
Unlike U.S. models that were fitted with restrictive catalytic converters, this Canadian version retains the more powerful expansion chambers, offering a more authentic two-stroke experience.
Powered by a liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine, this RZ350 delivers a responsive and engaging riding experience. The transmission oil was recently replaced as part of the February 2024 service. With under 13k-kms, this bike is not only a functional rider but also a competitive option for collectors. While it proudly displays some signs of use, it remains in remarkably clean condition, with only a minor flaw—a missing screw for the windshield.
