Description
This is a 2006 BMW M5 finished in Black Saphire Metallic paint (code: 475). This M5 is offered sale privately by the seller and it is located in Delta, BC. The M5 was sold new in California and then subsequently imported into Canada in 2008. It has remained in and registered in British Columbia since 2008 with a (Normal) status. The detailed Carfax shows various service records throughout the vehicle history and one minor accident was reported in 2011 which the seller mentions involved replacing the rear-bumper. Insurance covered the replacement bumper and labor at a cost of $1311.95. The original window sticker is included and it shows an MSRP of $95,050 USD when new. The seller mentions he is the third owner and acquired the M5 in 2018. He mentions he has added approximately 8000kms to the M5 under his ownership.
The M5 is offered with two keys, a second set of taillights and grills, a sun visor, a touch-up paint kit and full-service records.
The exterior of the M5 features Adaptive Xenon headlights (with aftermarket angel eyes added), M5 badged fender vents, amber side markers, a panoramic sunroof, a quad-tipped chrome muffler system. The tail lights have been upgraded to the later model M5 (2008+) LED taillights and as previously mentioned, the original taillights are included as well. The seller also opted for an aftermarket set of black kidney grills but the original chrome grills are the included in the sale. When compared to the base 5-series BMW model, the M5 features model-specific widened rear wheel arches, widened front fenders, an aerodynamic front bumper with larger venting capabilities and a lowered stance. The front and rear bumpers also feature a parktronic censored parking system. The original wheels have been replaced in favor of two-piece 20” Hartge Wheels that are wrapped in Continental extreme contact tires in the front and Sumitomo HTR ZIII tires in the rear. The seller mentions imperfections around the vehicle including curb rash on ¾ wheels, a scuff on the lower rear bumper, and minor rock chips on the front end of the vehicle.
Moving into the cabin of the M5, it is trimmed in Black Merino leather on the seats, door cards, steering wheel, shift-boot/E-brake boot and center console. Aluminum trim is inlayed into the dash, center console and door handles as well. The seller mentions the halogen interior lighting has been upgraded to LED’s and the pedals have had brushed aluminum covers installed to replace the rubber originals. The seller mentions that a Bluetooth gateway has been added to the factory entertainment system and a Valentine one Radar detector is installed and included in the sale. A laser jammer system has also been installed on this M5. Driver amenities include Heated/cooled/power adjustable seats, Air conditioning, and an iDrive infotainment system with navigation. Two sets of “M5” embroidered floor mats are included along with a matching M5 trunk mat. The seller mentions a recent service was completed in July 2021 including the replacement of the front brakes rotors/pads, new battery, new alternator and power steering fluid. The seller mentions the VANOS high pressure gear and hose, the SMG pump and the oil cooler have all been replaced. Records of all work completed is documented and included in a binder with the sale.
Powering the M5 is a high-revving S85 V10 engine that features individual throttle bodies, a dual-plenum intake, dual-VANOS valve train timing and a semi-dry sump oil lubrication system. Power is sent from the V10 to the rear wheels via a 7-speed SMG transmission. The transmission is manually shiftable via the paddles on the steering wheel or gear selector in the center console. The seller mentions RPI ram air intake scoops paired with high-flow BMC air filters have been added to upgrade the V10’s breathing!
