Description
This 1997 Hummer is finished in Medium Sage Green (paint code #WA605H) over a tan interior. This 4x4 utility vehicle is powered by a 6.5-liter turbodiesel V8 engine mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case. Originally designed by AM General solely for military use, the Hummer was released to the civilian market in 1992. Only 1,209 units were released in 1997. This example was imported to Canada twice; in 2013 and 2022. It is currently registered in Alberta with an active and (Normal) status and approx. 99K-km (61k-miles) on the odometer. The included Carfax shows one accident reported in 2022 with no indication of the claim amount of how severe the damage was.
For US bidders, this Hummer can be re-imported duty free to the US because it was imported to Canada less than a year ago. For more information on transport in Canada/USA and import, please visit our Transport/Import page here.
This Hummer has a guard protected wire mesh grille with round Wagner halogen headlights and a winch. Hummer and 6.5L turbo diesel emblems frame the headlights. A high mount radiator centres the hood. The turn signal lights sit within recessed housings cut into the fenders. The fuel cap is mounted at the top of the hood on the passenger side. The spare tire is mounted at the back on a swingarm bracket, and a receiver hitch is installed to the steel bumper below. The rear doors open with side hinges. Some clear coat protectant has worn off on the roof.
The Hummer’s wide track rides on new Vision 403 Tactical wheels wrapped in new Haida HD878 Rugged Terrain tires, 37x13.50R18LT all around. The Hummer is equipped with a central tire inflation system for adapting between off-road and on-road terrain, and with its high mounted air intake, the vehicle can ford 30” deep water.
12” inboard mounted vented ABS disc brakes and portal gears can position the drivetrain’s half shafts higher for increased ground clearance, allowing it to climb a 22” step with ease. The Hummer body is composed of hardened aircraft aluminium. It is 185” long, 87” wide, and 77” high, with a 130” wheelbase and a curb weight of 8,114.
Inside the cabin, seating for five is upholstered in beige cloth. The windows are powered.
A four-spoke Momo steering wheel fronts a 100 mph speedometer, with auxiliary gauges surrounding. A 5K rpm tachometer is to the right of the fuel gauge above an analog clock.
An air conditioning control panel with a Dolby cassette player and radio is tilted toward the driver. The console is centred by a 6-CD changer, two cup holders, 3 AC outlets, and a locking storage compartment. Leather map pockets are fitted to the doors. Hummer branded mats protect the floors, and the cargo area is carpeted.
The 1997 Hummer is powered by a 6.5-liter turbodiesel V8 paired to a GM 4L80-E 4-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case driving all four wheels. This is rated at 195 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and 430 lb-ft of torque at 1,800 rpm when new. The fully independent suspension employs A-arms, coil springs, and shock absorbers. Recent service includes an oil change and an Idler arm replacement.
