Description

This is a 2001 BMW E39 M5 finished in Titanium Silver Metallic (paint code #354). It is now offered here for sale by the second registered owner. Equipment includes (but not is limited to) black Extended Leather interior with Sunroof, Sunblind for rear window, Through-loading system, Ski bag, Park Distance Control (PDC), Navigation system with TV and on-board, On-board monitor with TV and on-board computer, HiFi system Professional DSP, and BMW 6 CD changer.

The seller acquired the M5 in 2022 and has added approx. 5k-kms (3k-miles). The M5 is currently registered in the province of Ontario with an active and Normal registration status. Included in the sale are 3 keys, owner’s manual, oem mufflers and wheel locks. The Carfax shows two incidents, one for approx. $8k which involved replacing the wheels and tires as they were stolen from the vehicle. The second $0 claim was for a scratch that was paid out of pocket as the deductible was higher than the cost of the minor repair.

For US bidders, this M5 is directly importable and the seller will provide a compliance letter from BMW USA. For more information on transport in Canada/USA and Import, please visit our Transport/Import page here.

The M5 Features model specific bodywork including an aerodynamic front/rear bumper and M5 badges molded into the exterior door trim. The exterior of the M5 has some minor modifications including LED angel eyes added to the headlights, bilstein sport shocks/struts with oem springs, and 35% tint on the windows. The seller mentions that he believes the car was repainted by the previous owner. The exhaust has been slightly modified with stainless muffler deletes, however the original mufflers are included in the sale. Power is sent from the engine to the rear wheels via a manual 6-speed transmission. The 18” wheels are wrapped in Kumho Ecsta tires measuring 245/40ZR18 in the front and 275/35ZR18 in the rear. The seller notes imperfections including some paint bubbling around the vehicle along with some chipping paint. The aforementioned are including in the gallery’s imperfections section.

Inside the cabin is seating for five upholstered in Black extended Nappa Point leather. The sport seats up front are 10-way power adjustable and heated, with slide-out thigh supports. The dash is finished with black leather, and "M" and "M5" badging is found on the shift knob, as well as on the door sills. A leather wrapped three-spoke steering wheel with red and blue stitching fronts an analog instrumentation panel with a 300 km/hr speedometer and a fuel level indicator to the left, and an 8K rpm tachometer and temperature gauge to the right.

Steering is a recirculating ball speed-sensitive design with a 14.7 steering ratio. Comfort, convenience and entertainment features include a trip computer, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual zone climate control, cruise control, powered one-touch windows, illuminated entry, an anti-theft alarm, and navigation with an LCD screen. Final trimming includes brushed aluminum accents on the dash, centre console and door cards.

Powering the M5 is a naturally aspirated all aluminium 4.9-litre DOHC V8 engine, designated the S62 by BMW. Power is sent from the engine to the rear wheels via a Getrag 420G 6-speed manual transmission. The S62 engine features a dual row timing chain, dual Vanos camshafts and individual throttle bodies for each cylinder inside an intake plenum with a carbon fibre crest reading BMW MPower. The S62 can also be found in the BMW Z8, and is rated at 394 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 369 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 rpm when placed into the M5. Over the past two years, comprehensive maintenance has been undertaken to restore peak performance and aesthetics. This included clutch replacement, flywheel resurfacing, and shifter bushing upgrades for improved transmission function. Valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, and a fresh oil change were addressed, alongside replacement of crucial components such as the water pump, thermostat, hoses, and Vanos Units, ensuring optimal engine health. Handling was enhanced with Bilstein sport struts, front stabilizer links, and various bushings, while coolant and brake fluids were flushed for sustained performance. Cosmetic upgrades included LED angel eyes, instrument cluster repairs, and installation of a newer OEM navigation unit. Safety was prioritized with new tires, brake pads, and taillight replacement. Inside, aftermarket cup holders and OEM carpet floor mats were added for comfort, while new floating center caps provided a touch of elegance. Additional improvements such as repairing washer fluid lines, replacing badges, and installing new power steering lines.
