Description
This is a 1979 Ford F-250 Ranger Lariat pickup truck finished in deep green metallic paint. This F-250 is offered for sale privately and it is currently registered in Alberta, Canada. This pickup truck is located in Red deer, AB and is being sold out of the owner’s private collection. The seller mentions this truck has been restored under a previous ownership that included replacing the original motor with a 460 cu in. V8, a full repaint, underbody restoration work, etc.
This F-250 is a rear-wheel drive, two-door specification with the long-box option. Equipment highlights include power-steering, a 3-speed automatic transmission, a factory trailer-brake system, front disk-brakes and a custom 2.5” exhaust system. The body of the truck features chrome front and rear bumpers, an aluminum grill, chrome trim along the body, Chrome mirrors, chrome truck bed guard-rails and a chrome vented cab windshield visor. The truck has dual gas caps and a toolbox built into the bed on the passenger side.
Power is sent from the engine to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission. The wheels are aftermarket Core racing wheels measuring 17” at all four corners. The wheels are wrapped in Falken Ziex S/TZ 01 tires measuring 275/60ZR17 in the front and rear. The factory shocks have been replaced with aftermarket units and many of the suspension bushings have been replaced.
The seller notes imperfections including a crack in the dash, a rip in the seat and a chip out of the driver side door card. Pictures of all aforementioned are included in gallery under the imperfections category.
The interior is finished with a dark green vinyl and mesh bench seat, green carpet and a forest green dash. Woodgrain trim paneling is also inlaid into the dash with a “Ranger Lariat” emblem. An aftermarket Pioneer head unit has been wired into the speaker system to update the cabin amenities.
Matching vinyl door cards complete the interior with chrome handles and manual window crank handles.
A two-spoke black and woodgrain wheel steers the ford. Behind the wheel is a 130km/h speedometer and the 5-digit odometer shows approximately 43,350kms. The seller mentions he has added 300 kms under his ownership.
A metal vin badge mounted in the driver side door jam notes that this Ford pickup was produced in Canada when originally built.
The seller mentions that the original engine was replaced during the restoration process in favor of a 460 ci in. V8 with a 429 Cobra Jet top-end. Visual modifications show an Edelbrock air filter, an MSD Blaster 2 ignition coil, chrome valve covers and an aftermarket spark distribution unit.
The seller mentions that a recent tune-up was just completed. Exact power figures from the engine assumed to be higher with the modifications, however the power figures from factory for this motor are below.
