Description
This is a 1979 GMC VanDura 1500 Van finished in its original green/turquoise paint. The Van is offered for sale privately and it is currently registered in Quebec, Canada with an active and (Normal) Status. The odometer is said to have tripped over once before and is now showing approx. 20k-kms on the mechanical odometer, thus the estimated mileage is ~120k-kms (74k-miles). The seller mentions he believes the Van to be accident free and is not aware of any rust present on the body panels.
For US bidders, this VanDura is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
The exterior paint of the VanDura is said to be all original and highlights include white painted front and rear bumpers, white painted mirrors, and white pinstriping around the body of the Van. The front grill and headlight surrounds are trimmed in a raw aluminum finish. Chrome trim is on the door handles, wiper arms and then aftermarket Elixir 1000 running boards complete the exterior.
The VanDura wears its original 15” wheels finished in gloss white with Chrome “GMC” emblemed hubcaps. These wheels are shod with Laredo Uniroyal tires measuring 225/70R15 on all four.
In 1978, the VanDura exterior underwent a revision, thus this 79’ model has the updated/more desirable design. This included minor changes to the fenders and the introduction of larger bumpers. The grille was also redesigned and resembled more closely to the "Rounded-Line" C/K pickup trucks in its design, the front fascia was restyled to integrate the headlamps and turn signals into one housing
The interior in trimmed with a matching green theme with green vinyl on the door cards/front seats. The carpet is a dark green trim and the dash is a dark green as well with “Rally STX” badging found infront of the passenger. Dual custom captain armchairs are mounted in the cabin along with custom bench seats in behind.
The Van is powered by its original 305 Cu in. V8 engine and the power is sent to the rear wheels solely via a three-speed automatic transmission. The engine, transmission and body are said to all be numbers matching.
