Description
This is a 2003 BMW E39 M5 finished in Sterling Grey Metallic (paint code #472) over a Black extended Nappa Point leather interior. Production numbers show that this M5 is one of only 694 produced for the Canadian market during the entire E39 production run. This M5 has a build date of May 06, 2003 and production ended in June 2003, making this M5 one of the last E39 M5’s ever built. It was first sold new in Victoria, BC, then spent some time with a previous owner in Alberta. The current owner and seller purchased the car approximately 10 years ago and it has remained registered in British Columbia during his ownership period. This M5 is currently registered in British Columbia, Canada with approx. 75K-kms on the digital odometer and an active / (Normal) registration status. The included Carfax report shows no records of any accidents or claims. The E39 M5 is powered by a 4.9-liter V8 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Highlights of the factory equipment include Shadow-Chrome 18-inch style 65 “M” double spoke wheels, Xenon headlights with washers, heated and power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, an M-Audio system and a powered rear window shade.

The M5 Features model specific bodywork including an aerodynamic front/rear bumper and M5 badges molded into the exterior door trim. The exterior of the M5 is entirely original and free from modification. The seller mentions that he believes the paint to be original on all panels. The exhaust is expelled via an aftermarket Eisenmann E39 M5 Performance Exhaust system. Power is sent from the engine to the rear wheels via a manual 6-speed transmission. The 18” wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires measuring 245/40ZR18 in the front and 275/35ZR18 in the rear. The seller notes imperfections including a scuff on the driver-side rear wheel, a mark on the rear bumper and some rock chips on the hood that have been touched-up with an OEM paint pen.
Inside the cabin is seating for five upholstered in Black extended Nappa Point leather. The sport seats up front are 10-way power adjustable and heated, with slide-out thigh supports. The dash is finished with black leather, and "M" and "M5" badging is found on the shift knob, as well as on the door sills. A leather wrapped three-spoke steering wheel with red and blue stitching fronts an analog instrumentation panel with a 300 km/hr speedometer and a fuel level indicator to the left, and an 8K rpm tachometer and temperature gauge to the right.
Steering is a recirculating ball speed-sensitive design with a 14.7 steering ratio. Comfort, convenience and entertainment features include a trip computer, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual zone climate control, cruise control, powered one-touch windows, illuminated entry, an anti-theft alarm, and navigation with an LCD screen. Final trimming includes brushed aluminum accents on the dash, centre console and door cards.
Powering the M5 is a naturally aspirated all aluminium 4.9-litre DOHC V8 engine, designated the S62 by BMW. Power is sent from the engine to the rear wheels via a Getrag 420G 6-speed manual transmission. The S62 engine features a dual row timing chain, dual Vanos camshafts and individual throttle bodies for each cylinder inside an intake plenum with a carbon fibre crest reading BMW MPower. The S62 can also be found in the BMW Z8, and is rated at 394 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 369 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 rpm when placed into the M5. The seller has added a Dinan monoball front control arm upgrade and a Dinan Stage 1 ECU re-map. 50+ service record documents are included in the gallery below and notable recent service involves an Oil change, upgraded rear sway bar brackets, coolant flush, brake fluid flush, new rear tires, Differential output shaft seals, alignment, new A/C and alternator belt.
