Description
This is a 2004 Maserati Coupé GT finished in Rosso Mondiale red over a Nero black leather interior. It is powered by Ferrari’s F136 R engine - a 4.2-liter 32-valve DOHC V8. This is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. This Italian-made four-seater grand tourer (gran turismo as the Italians would have it) was produced from 2001 to 2007, with only 1,078 coupé GT’s made in that time. This was the last design of Giorgetto Giugiaro to emanate from the Viale Ciro Menotti factory in Modena, and it was named the Best GT by Forbes in 2001.
This example was imported to Quebec by the current owner from the state of Indiana and is currently offered for sale privately in Montreal, QC. The included Carfax shows no accidents or damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was declared to meet Canadian motor vehicle safety standards upon import in 2017. Due to this beign an ex-us vehicle, it can be re-imported duty-free.
The exteiror of the GT is finished in Rosso Mondiale and paint thickness metre readings can be seen in the gallery. The vehicle is 178 inches long, 72 inches wide, and 51 inches high, with a curb weight of about 3,700 lbs. In 2004 Maserati made some exterior changes to both the Coupe and Spyder (the two-seater version). This included a new, larger grill with its bottom edge deeper into the front bumper, an oval Maserati logo appearing on the hood, and dual exhaust outlets embedded in the back bumper.
This lovely Italian GT sits on updated lightweight 20” magnesium alloy Maserati wheels with a 12-spoke design. Ohtsu FP8000 low profile wheels are 285/30ZR20 at the rear and 245/30ZR20 at the front.
The interior cabin of the Maserati Coupé GT seats four passengers, with its heated seats upholstered in Nero black leather and stylish red stitching. Carbon fibre accents are found in the door panel inserts, on the shifter, and on the 3-spoke steering wheel, which fronts a 200-mph speedometer, a 7,500 rpm redline tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The interior design of the 4200 GT Coupé was largely based on Maserati’s 3200 GT. An infotainment system is integrated with the gently curving centre console which houses the shifter.
Other notable features include an electrochromic rear view mirror, rear parking sensors, and cruise control. The car comes equipped with safety features such as front and side airbags, and the Maserati Stability Program, which brings the vehicle under control when needed using traction control, motor spin regulation, brake force distribution, and anti-locking braking.
The 2004 Maserati Coupé GT has a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout for its 4.2-liter 32-valve DOHC V8. This is a 4,244 cc displacement naturally aspirated engine rated at 385 horsepower at 7,000 rpm with peak torque of 333 lb-ft at 4,500 rpm, and a top speed of 285 km/hr. Its crankcase and cylinder heads are an aluminium and silicon alloy, and utilize a crossplane crankshaft. This is paired to a 6-speed manual transaxle transmission. Operating modes include Normal, Sport, Auto, and Low Grip - these adjust stability, shifting, and suspension to the driver’s preference. A light alloy double wishbone suspension is employed, with anti-roll bars, “Skyhook” adaptive damping with coil-over shock absorbers, and six accelerometers that monitor wheel and car body movement. The Brembo braking system uses light alloy four-piston callipers and cross-drilled large ventilating discs.
