Description
This is a 2005 BMW E46 M3 cabriolet finished in Carbon Schwarz metallic paint (416). This M3 is offered for sale privately by the original owner and it is currently registered in Alberta, Canada with a (Normal) status. The seller currently has the car stored in Vernon, BC. Having travelled just under 48k kms (30k miles) since new, this M3 has remained registered in Alberta since purchased new from BMW Gallery Calgary in 2005.
Highlights of the factory equipment include 19-inch “M” double spoke wheels, Xenon headlights, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a Harman/Kardon premium sound system, cruise control, a removable wind deflector and power retractable soft top. Pictures of the undercarriage are viewable in the gallery and a walk-around, driving and warm rev video of the M3 are viewable below.
This M3 was modified by the BMW dealer by adding a Dinan cold air intake system w/airbox, Dinan free-flow exhaust system and Dinan Stage-3 Engine computer software. The modifications Keep the emissions within factory compliance as per a Dinan CARB sticker in the engine bay.
The 19” wheels are wrapped in Toyo Proxies 4-plus tires, sized 225/40R19 in the front and 255/35R19 in the rear. These tires were installed new at 41k kms. A recent service at 47,496 kms includes an airbag recall, an oxygen sensor, an alignment, a microfilter and an oil change.
This M3 is offered with service records, two keys and a complete leather-backed manual.
M3 specific vents are built into the front fenders and a Dinan quad black-tip muffler expels the exhaust.
The cabin is finished in black Nappa leather with Titan Shadow trim on the dashboard, center console and door cards. The seller mentions that the interior is entirely original, and the power-retractable roof is free of any issues. A “M” leather wrapped multi-function wheel steers the M3 and a leather wrapped and illuminated shift knob changes the gears.
The seller mentions two nickel sized dents on the passenger side rear quarter panel. Scratches on the driver side quarter panel are also mentioned. These are both pictured in the gallery’s “Imperfections” grouping.
Mechanical
Powering the M3 is a 3.2-litre inline 6-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. Mated to the S54B32 engine is a 6-speed manual gearbox. The motor features variable valve-timing technology (named VANOS), it also has independent throttle bodies for each cylinder. In stock form the S54 produces 333hp and 271 lb. ft of torque. However due to the modifications, according to Dinan’s website they up the power levels to the tune of +24hp and 17 lb. ft of torque.
