This is a 2004 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG wagon finished in Capri Blue metallic paint (paint code: 359). This E55 AMG is offered for sale privately by the seller and it is currently located in Vaughan, Ontario. The seller acquired this wagon in 2019 and subsequently imported it to Canada from Japan. The wagon has been registered in Ontario for approximately three years and the seller mentions that he is believed to be the second owner after purchasing it from a dealership in Japan that stated it a was a one-owner car in the country.
Factory highlights include roof-rack rails, cruise control, a powered sunroof, airmatic air suspension (that is said to be fully functional), heated and power operated front seats and 8-piston AMG front brake callipers with 4-piston rears. For US bidders, being a Japanese import and under 25 years-old, this wagon cannot be directly imported to the US. If a US buyer would like to import this wagon, it would need to be federalized by bringing it into US DOT and EPA compliance through a registered importer.
Undercarriage pictures and various videos of the wagon are included in the gallery below. The wagon’s exterior features Keyless entry, dual headlights with recessed lower fog lights and an AMG aerodynamic body kit. Chrome fender and trunk badges are found around the exterior and parktronic sensors are found in the front and rear bumpers. The AMG front and rear callipers have been power coated yellow and AMG badging re-applied. The original AMG 18” 5-spoke dual-slat wheels keep the wagon planted. The front wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot super sport tires measuring 255/40ZR18 and the rear wheels are wrapped in Toyo Proxies T1 sport tires measuring 285/35ZR18. The seller has noted imperfections in the paint including some paint chips on the bottom of the driver’s door and sun fading on the driver-side mirror. Both are pictured in the gallery’s imperfections category. The seller mentions that the front Air-struts were replaced under the prior ownership.
The exhaust is expelled out of an all original true-dual & quad-polished tipped exhaust system. The interior of the wagon is trimmed in black leather on the door cards and front/rear seats. Completing the interior is genuine Carbon/Kevlar trim. The clear epoxy finish on the steering wheel Carbon/kevlar trim is known to have some cosmetic cracking. The original head-unit has been replaced in favour of an Eclipse infotainment unit that comes complete with a back-up camera. Commanding the wagon is a set of AMG aluminum gas, brake, and parking brake pedals. The multifunctional four-spoke steering wheel fronts a white-faced gauge cluster featuring a 320km/h speedometer and a 7k rpm tachometer. The sale of the wagon comes complete with the original owner’s manual, service records and two key-fobs. The seller mentions that he recently had it inspected at a local AMG-specialist shop (XF motorsports), where they found a leaking valve cover gasket/oil breather seal. Both issues were addressed and paired with an oil change, then the E55 was given a clean bill of health, approximately 200kms ago.
Powering the AMG wagon is a 5.4L supercharged V8 engine which was handbuilt at the AMG factory in Alfalterbach, Germany. A plaque mounted on the IHI-developed twinscrew supercharger shows the engine builder’s name and signature. The seller mentions other service completed in November 2021 included replacing both the main/aux battery, intake air filter, all cabin filters, and an oil change. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission.
