Description
This is a 1951 Chevrolet split-window pickup truck body that has been through a frame-off restoration and transferred onto a 1987 Chevrolet Blazer K5 frame. This truck has been heavily modified and features a Chevrolet 350 cu in. engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. This custom truck is located in Red Deer, AB stored in a heated garage and is offered for sale privately out of the seller’s collection. The seller mentions that the restoration/upgrades were completed in 2018. The seller acquired this truck from the previous owner that completed the work in 2019 and has added approximately 100km under his ownership. This truck is currently registered in Alberta.
Highlights of the equipment are A/C, 4X4 drivetrain, frame mounted hitch, lifted suspension, 35” tires, touchscreen infotainment screen with Bluetooth, rust-proofed undercoating, etc.
The exterior of the truck features a custom Satin-black painted exterior, chrome door handles, chrome headlight surrounds, chrome hood trim, chrome exhaust tips and chrome manually adjustable mirrors. Being a 1951 body, it is dubbed the “split window” style truck. Custom bumpers are mounted at the front and back and red tow hooks hang-off a frame-mounted plate. CARR fold-up side steps are mounted under the sides of the truck. The tail gate locks have been modified with chrome chain ended hooks. A hidden hitch system is mounted to the frame underneath the rear bash bar.
The wheels are 6-lug and chrome which measure 15” at all four corners. These wheels are wrapped in Mickey Thompson Baja claw tires measuring 35/15.5/15LT on all four. Skull valve stem caps complete the wheel setup.
The seller mentions a few scratches and touch-ups, pictures of these are included in the imperfections category of the gallery.
The interior has been re-upholstered and features diamond quilted seats, custom gauges, touchscreen radio and Skull-themed finishing’s throughout.
The door cards and dash have been painted black and the original General Motors of Canada metal vin plate appears to be untouched in the driver side doorjamb.
An 8-spoke Grant steering wheel handles the truck and fronts two aftermarket Pro-comp gauges. On the left is a MPH denominated speedometer that shows approximately 400 miles. This is believed to be the accurate mileage post-restoration, true mileage on this truck prior to restoration is unknown. On the right is a matching Pro-comp Tachometer showing a 10k rpm redline. Mounted under the radio is a suite of matching gauges that display oil pressure, Fuel level, Water temp and battery voltage. Continuing with the skull theme from the exterior, the interior includes dual Skull shift-knobs (with a spare in the glovebox).
At the heart of the truck is a Chevrolet 350 cu in. engine. Visually the engine shows modifications including Edelbrock valves covers, a Holley carburetor, a chrome scoop air intake, ceramic coated headers, a chrome aftermarket alternator, etc. The seller mentions that many of the lines, hoses and seals have been refreshed. Power is sent from the engine to all four wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission. In stock form the Chevrolet 350 cu in. engine is rated at 210 hp/300 lb. ft of torque, however this engines power figures are likely higher from the modifications.
