Description
This 1984 Honda VF500C Magna V30 motorcycle is finished in Candy Andromeda Red (paint code #R131). It is powered by an 498cc liquid-cooled DOHC V4 engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. The Honda VF500C Magna V30 was produced by the Japanese manufacturer for just two years, from 1984 to 1985, making this a rare collectors item. Its low weight and low centre of gravity makes this bike a joy to ride. This Honda cruiser is registered in Quebec with an active and (Normal) status and approx. 43K-km on the odometer.
For US bidders, this Honda VF500C Magna V30 is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
This unmodified 2nd generation Magna is finished in Candy Andromeda Red paint with a chrome frame and fenders. The main fuel tank has classic Honda script and a flying wing design, with a chrome gas cap. A reserve fuel tank is located under the seat, and bears a V30 Magna decal. Total fuel capacity is 14 litres.
The VF500C rides on an 18” wheel in the front, with a hydraulic twin piston calliper disc brake, and the 16” wheel in the back uses a drum brake.
Front suspension is a telescopic air assisted coil sprung fork with anti-dive valving and 6.3” of travel, and the rear suspension is a single shock swing arm with dual shock absorbers and 4.3” of travel.
The VF500C has a 58” wheelbase, and the seat is 30” above the ground. The bike has a dry weight of 397 lbs. The black seat is upholstered in padded leather, with room for a passenger.
It’s said that the 90-degree engine layout limits primary vibration, making for a more enjoyable ride, and the V-twin engine configuration nicely balances acceleration, horsepower, and smooth delivery.
A 220 km/hr speedometer is mounted above the left handlebar and a 12K rpm tachometer is mounted above the right handlebar. An engine temperature gauge, fuel level indicator, and light settings are clustered between these. The VF500C is also equipped with twin horns.
The 1984 Honda VF500C Magna V30 is powered by a 498cc liquid-cooled DOHC V4 with four Keihin carburetors criss-crossing between the banks of cylinders, and 4 valves per cylinder. The V4 has a bore and stroke of 60mm x 44mm and a 11.0:1 compression ratio. This is rated at 64 horsepower and 32 lb-ft of torque when new, with a claimed top speed of 196 km/hr, and a 0-100 km/hr of just 3 seconds. Power is sent to the rear wheel with a 6-speed manual transmission, utilising a self-adjusting hydraulic clutch and automatic cam-chain tensioners.
