Description
This is a 2003 BMW E46 M3 Coupe finished in Carbon Schwarz metallic (paint code: 416) over an Individual Champagne Nappa leather interior. Under a previous ownership in 2009 this M3 was involved in a collision which issued it a salvage title. The M3 was then rebuilt, passed inspection and issued a rebuilt registration. The M3 is currently registered in British Columbia, Canada with a (rebuilt) status. The seller has owned the M3 for approximately 6 months and has added approx. 5k-kms. A recent Carfax report is included in the gallery below.
The S54 motor is notorious for its rod bearings failures. On this M3 they have been preventatively replaced under a warranty recall by BMW. The E46 Chassis is also known for cracks in the rear subframe, so the seller had the rear subframe mounts preventatively reinforced with turner motorsports plates in 2023.

The exterior features M3-specific fender vents with "M3" emblems, fog lights, and a true quad polish tipped muffler. Highlights of the factory equipment include Xenon headlights, heated and power-adjustable front sport seats, a Harman/Kardon premium sound system, a ski bag, the cold weather package and a power sunroof. Pictures of the undercarriage are viewable in the gallery and various videos of the M3 are viewable below. The seller has added LCI LED taillights and a set of CA Coilovers to improve the suspension. The 19″ M cross-spoke Style 163M wheels CSL fitment and are mounted with Firehawk INDY500 tires measuring 245/35 up front and 255/35 at the rear.
The interior is finished in BMW Individual Champagne Nappa leather and the seller has added an Alcantara steering wheel wrap, Alcantara ZHP shift knob paired with an Alcantara shift boot. This M3 was optioned new with an SMG-transmission and was converted to a 6-speed manual transmission. The gearbox is actually the same unit for both the SMG and Manual E46 M3's. The conversion mainly involves the removal/replacement of the SMG shifter mechanism, pump and the installation of the clutch pedal.
Extensive maintenance and upgrades have been performed on the M3, including new brakes, rotors, and tires. The suspension system has been overhauled with new bushings, and the driveshaft has been serviced. The subframe has been reinforced, and new bushings have been installed. Fluids have been changed, the crankcase ventilation system has been serviced, and a new battery has been fitted. The throttle bodies and ICV have been cleaned thoroughly.
Powering the M3 is a 3.2-litre inline 6-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. Mated to the S54B32 engine is a 6-speed manual gearbox. The head of the engine features variable valve-timing technology (named VANOS), it also has independent throttle bodies for each cylinder. The seller has added a K&N Cold-air intake and as previously mentioned the original rod bearings were replaced under warranty by BMW.
