This E46 M3 is powered by a 3.2-litre DOHC inline-six cylinder 24-valve engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The M3 is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.2-litre DOHC inline-six engine with 4 valves per cylinder, designated the S54B32 by BMW. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. The S54B32 engine features dual Vanos camshafts and individual throttle bodies for each cylinder inside an intake plenum with an M emblem. The S54B32 is rated at 333 horsepower at 7,900 rpm and 262 lb-ft of torque at 4,900 rpm when new.
