Description

This is a 2004 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG wagon finished in obsidian black metallic paint (paint code:197). This E55 AMG is offered for sale privately by the seller and it is currently located in Oakville, Ontario. The seller acquired this wagon approximately five months ago from Japan and it has been registered in Ontario for approximately two months. The seller mentions the reason for the sale is due to an unplanned career relocation.

Factory highlights include roof-rack rails, a power operated rear trunk storage compartment, cruise control, a powered sunroof, airmatic air suspension (that is said to be fully-functional), heated/cooled and power operated front seats and 8-piston AMG front brake calipers with 4-piston rears. For US bidders, being a Japanese import and under 25 years-old, this wagon cannot be directly imported to the US. If a US buyer would like to import this wagon, it would need to be federalized by bringing into US DOT and EPA compliance with a registered importer.

The exterior of the wagon features an aftermarket front lip and a gloss back grill that the seller mentions he recently had paint matched to the original obsidian black. The seller mentions the wagon recently underwent a paint correction/polish and believes the paint to be original. The sellers mentions that paint-depth measurements can be provided upon request. The original wheels have been replaced in favour of genuine 19” Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG wheels. The wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Pzero tires measuring 225/40R19 in the front and 275/30R19 in the rear. Close-up pictures showing tire tread depth and brake pad thickness are available for viewing in the gallery. Undercarriage pictures and close-ups of suspension components are also included. Chrome-trim wraps along the exterior and parktronic sensors are noted at the front and rear of the wagon. The seller notes imperfections which are pictured, including rock chips on the front fascia,  a crack in the lower front lip and paint chips on the fenders.

The exhaust is expelled out of an original true-dual & quad-polished tipped exhaust system.

The interior of the wagon is trimmed in a two-tone navy and black leather combination on the door cards and front/rear seats. The original head-unit has been replaced in favour of an aftermarket infotainment unit which has Bluetooth/navigation capability, as well as integrated Apple CarPlay. The steering wheel controls have retained functionality with the addition of the newer head-unit.

Finishing the interior trim is birds eye maple trim inlaid to the dashboard, centre console, door cards and steering wheel. Commanding the wagon is a set of AMG aluminum gas, brake and parking brake pedals. The multifunctional four-spoke steering wheel fronts a white-faced gauge cluster featuring a 320km/h speedometer and a 7k rpm tachometer. The seller mentions that the Keyless entry on the driver and passenger doors is occasionally not functioning and a remedy to solve the issue has not yet been attempted.

Powering the AMG wagon is a 5.4L supercharged V8 engine which was handbuilt at the AMG factory in Alfalterbach, Germany. A plaque mounted on the IHI-developed twinscrew supercharger shows the engine builder’s name and signature. The seller mentions that the wagon will receive an oil & filter change prior to a new owner taking possession. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission.
