Description
This is a 1985 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 finished in Silver (paint code #WA8535) with a grey and black interior. This T-Top Camaro is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. It is currently registered in British Columbia with an active and (Normal) registration status and approximately 62K-kms on the odometer. Produced by Chevrolet from 1982 to 1992, the third generation Camaro was the first to come equipped with a hatchback design. The seller has owned this Z28 since 2020, and mentions they are the third owner. The included Carfax shows one theft claim in 1987.
For US bidders, this Camaro is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
The Z28 exterior is as distinctive as American muscle gets, with a hawkish urethane nose, a three-piece rear spoiler, and sharp fender flares. This example takes the look to the limit with T-tops, functional pneumatic air induction vents on the hood, front, side, and rear lower valences in dark grey, and rare Riken RTW basketweave 16” wheels in black. These are wrapped in BF Goodrich g-Force Sport tires, 245/50ZR16 all around. The seller mentions that the original 15” wheels are included in the sale, and the tires were bought new in 2021 with an alignment performed. A tri-colour stripe runs the length of the car, and headlamps are deep-set within black housings. Z28 badges appear on the right rear bumper and side valences. The seller notes that the muffler, tail pipe assembly, exhaust pipe, front tie rod ends, and hood latch have been replaced with stock components under their ownership. The seller further states that some paint chips are present on the front bumper and side panels.
Inside the cabin, seating for four is upholstered in grey cloth with black stripes and vinyl sides. The front bucket seats are accompanied by a centre armrest and ribbed grey and black door panels. A Z28 emblem features prominently on the passengers side of the dash.
A three-spoke Z28 steering wheel comes with a leather cover and fronts analog instrumentation with a 140 km/hr speedometer to the left and and a 7K rpm tachometer to the right, with auxiliary gauges at the centre. The car comes equipped with a rear window defroster, Delco air conditioning, a Delco AM/FM cassette stereo, and power windows.
The rear hatch reveals a large storage area with a black GM T-top cover.
This Z28 is powered by GM’s LG4 engine - a 305 cubic inch V8 sending power to the rear wheels with a 5-speed manual transmission utilising a hydraulic clutch linkage and a four barrel carburetor. This powerplant is factory rated at 155 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque when new. The Camaro Z28 suspension employs a live rear axle with a multi-link design, and Macpherson struts up front. In 1984, Car and Driver magazine named the Camaro Z28 as the best handling car built in the United States. The seller notes that the oil was changed in Spring of 2022.
