This is a 1976 MG MGB finished in British Racing Green (paint code # GN.25) over a brown vinyl interior. This vintage British roadster is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-4 cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. British Motor Corporation’s MGB was produced from 1962 to 1980. This vehicle is currently registered in British Columbia with an active and (Normal) status. The analog SMITH'S odometer reads approximately 12K-miles, with the total mileage being unknown.
For US bidders, this MGB is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
The MGB’s unique exterior design features chrome window bezels, door handles and body side mouldings, along with recessed round headlamps, and taillight fins. The front fascia has a long nose and recessed grille with MG badging. The bumpers are made of shock absorbing black rubber. Orange and amber reflector lights are mounted beneath the character lines.
A raised MG emblem centres the trunk lid which also has a pronounced chrome handle. The black soft top folds down and the car comes with a tonneau cover for the passenger seat on solo rides. The car also comes with a full cover.
The MGB rides on 14” Rostyle wheels wrapped in Michelin Harmony tires, P185/70R14 all around with MG centre caps and MG branded mud flaps. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features textured brown vinyl seating for two with a dark brown dash and centre armrest, with gold accents on the doors. Black rubber floor mats with MG branding are placed on black carpeting.
An illuminated MG nameplate adorns the centre console beneath two rectangular heat vents. The console also houses two cup holders and a cigarette lighter. The shifter has a black leather boot and MG branded knob.
A drilled three-spoke MG-branded steering wheel fronts analog instrumentation with a 7K rpm tachometer to the left and a 120 mph speedometer to the right, with auxiliary gauges and indicator lights surrounding.
The glove compartment locks and fits beneath the padded dash. A spare tire and jack are mounted in the trunk.
The 1976 MG MGB Roadster is powered by a 1.8-liter BMC B-series inline-four cylinder engine paired to a Laycock Type LH Overdrive 4-speed gearbox driving the rear wheels. This engine is rated at 63 horsepower at 5,500 rpm, and 86 lb-ft of torque at 2,500 rpm, when new. Suspension utilises wishbones and coil springs at the front and a rigid axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs at the rear, with anti-roll bars and lever shock absorbers at both ends.
The seller shares that the overdrive transmission, radiator, and a new exhaust were installed in 2013. The water pump, trim rings, battery, and brakes were replaced in 2015. A coolant flush was performed in 2016, along with a new clutch kit installed. In 2017, the engine was rebuilt, with the starter and alternator also rebuilt, cylinders resurfaced and re-seated, and camshaft refinished. Front wheels, bearings, and seals were replaced in 2018.
