Description
This 1977 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT was initially sold new in Kansas City, Missouri, as a two-wheel drive SuperCab pickup truck. In 2016, the current owner acquired the vehicle and initiated a custom refurbishment. This process included converting the truck into a four-wheel drive, installing a rebuilt 460ci V8 engine, and rebuilding the three-speed automatic transmission.
Additionally, the car was refinished in red, and the frame was refinished. Other modifications involve updated suspension components, widened steel wheels, interior upgrades, a Trick Flow carburetor, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, and more, as specified below. The truck has only been driven around 310 miles since the completion of the rebuild and is currently available for purchase with British Columbia registration.
For US bidders, this truck is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
According to the seller, the body of the vehicle was repainted in its present red hue during the restoration process, and the frame was also refinished at that time.
Additional features of the truck include tinted windows, towing mirrors, step bars, and a hitch with a receiver installed under the rear step bumper.
The black-finished, widened steel wheels are paired with 33" Interco VorTrac all-terrain tires. The seller notes that the front of the truck has disc brakes and that the suspension components have been replaced.
The dashboard of the vehicle features a wooden-trimmed binnacle that houses auxiliary gauges and an 85-mph speedometer, all framed by a two-spoke steering wheel. The mechanical odometer has five digits and displays 310 miles, which is the distance traveled since the completion of the vehicle's construction. However, the overall mileage of the car is uncertain.
The extended cab of the truck is decked out in a uniform red hue, which can be seen on the seat upholstery, carpeting, door panels, and dashboard.
The vehicle still boasts a Philco AM radio and comes equipped with features such as a sliding rear window, heating and defrosting, vent windows, and lap belts.
The truck is powered by a substitute 460ci V8 engine that reportedly underwent a rebuild before being installed. The engine features a Trick Flow carburetor and an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, along with polished valve covers. Power is transmitted through a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case to all four wheels. A dynamometer test sheet in the accompanying gallery displays peak output of 404 horsepower and 514 lb-ft of torque.
