Description
This is a 2005 Factory Five racing Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe finished in Race Red with gunmetal grey racing stripes. The body is a fiberglass shell replica of the 1964-65 original Shelby Daytona coupe. The seller purchased this Daytona approximately 1 year ago partially finished by the original owner. The seller then completed the drivetrain, interior assembly and has added approximately 200kms to the Daytona since purchased (all the mileage).
This Daytona coupe is issued a serial number when purchased new from Factory Five Racing and it currently registered in Alberta where it has resided since assembled. This Daytona is offered for sale privately by the second owner (first registered).
Highlights of the factory equipment include a front/mid-engine configuration with a spaceframe and built-in roll cage, independent double-arm suspension, Power steering, a Tremec TKO 5-speed manual transmission and a 302 cu in. Ford Racing V8 engine.
The exterior of the Daytona features a clamshell front hood, a rear duckbill spoiler, a functional passthrough radiator hood vent, Lexan window scoops, fender grill vents, Ceramic-coated dual side-exit exhaust pipes, Dual fog-lights, a red-painted tow hood, chrome gas cap cover, ceramic coated rear bash bar and a master power switch mounted near the driver side fender.
From the original Shelby Daytona, the Factory five racing model is 6% larger in all dimensions, which was done to increase the wheelbase to allow for larger rear wheels for improved grip.
This Daytona is equipped with Gunmetal grey finished MB motorsports wheels that measure 17” at all four corners, which are wrapped in Ventus Sport K104 tires measuring 275/40ZR17 on all four. The seller mentions that a second set of Shelby replica 18” Wheels will be included paired with a new set of Nitto NT01 tires (pictured).
The seller notes that the paint is all factory original and a few rocks chips and scratches mentioned. These are pictured in the gallery’s imperfections category.
The interior is trimmed in a combination of black leather on the aluminum framed race seats, door cards, and console.
The satin black painted dash mounts various gauges, switches and vents. Simpson four-point harnesses secure the driver in place while he/she manually shifts the 5-speed transmission. An exposed shifter linkage adds to the true “Racecar” feeling carried throughout the cabin.

Powering the Daytona Coupe is a 302-cu in. Ford Raing V8 engine. This powertrain is said to propel the Daytona from 0-60 in less than four seconds.
The V8 engine has been modified with a Trick flow-top end intake system, Trick flow branded valve covers, and ceramic coated headers. An AN-fitting & braided fuel line system feeds the engine while an MSD ignition system provides spark. In stock for the Ford Racing engine is rated at 345 hp / 330 lb. ft of torque, however due to the modifications these numbers are likely higher.
