Description

This is a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI finished in the classical Subaru livery of World Rally Blue Pearl (paint code: 02C) paired with factory-Gold BBS wheels. The colorway hearkens back to the livery worn during Subaru’s glory days dominating the world rally stage with drivers like Colin McCrae, Richard Burns and Petter Solberg. This STI is said to be an unmodified and original paint example. The included Carfax shows no records of any accidents or insurance claims. This example is a US-spec vehicle that was imported to Canada in 2006 by the original owner. The seller mentions that he purchased this STI in the Fall of 2022 from the original owner.

For US buyers this STI can be re-imported to the USA without hesitation as it is a US-specification vehicle. As per the original DOT and EPA stickers, this WRX STI complies with all USA safety and emission standards. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.

The 2006 model year brought a facelift to the GD-Impreza chassis (2002-2007) with the introduction of a front-end remodel including a new headlight/front bumper design along with an additional secondary spoiler mounted atop the rear window. This front-end design was nicknamed the “Hawkeye” which proceeds the “Blog-eye” and “Bug-eye” generations nicknamed before it. The WRX and STI models feature a widened front and rear body design to widen its track and more closely resemble the rally cars used by Subaru at the time.

The exterior features an aluminum hood with a functional hood-scoop feeding a top-mount intercooler, HID headlights, a large trunk mounted spoiler, and gold-finished Brembo brake calipers which are four-piston front and two-piston rear. Gold-finished 17″ BBS wheels are wrapped in what are said to be “Like-new” Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS tires measuring 225/45R17 on all four corners.

The seller mentions that in prepping the STI for sale, he removed the original hazed paint-protection film covering the front end of the car which is why the front-end paint is said to be in fantastic condition. The seller has included pictures of noted exterior imperfections including but not limited to a small dent on the rear driver door trim, scuffs underneath the rear bumper and paint imperfections on the front bumper. The interior of the STI features a Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD), automatic climate control, cruise control, aluminum pedal covers, power windows, mirrors, and locks. WeatherTech driver and passenger floor liners are included in the sale along with the original blue cloth floormats. Pictures showing close-ups of the seat bolsters are included in the gallery. The leather wrapped three-spoked STI steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates approx. 63k-miles.

A recent compression test included in the gallery shows results of 145PSI on all four cylinders. This STI was optioned from factory with the OEM fog lights upgrade, OEM short shifter upgrade and a Lamco Boost gauge, which brought the purchase price on the original window sticker to an MSRP of $34,899 USD when new in 2006. Various service records have been included in the gallery, most notably a timing belt service that was completed at 32k-miles. Within the last 1k-miles, the seller replaced all brakes (pads and rotors), installed a new windshield, an AVCS sensor, license plate bulbs, and performed air filter and a clutch fluid flush and replacement.
