This is a 2000 BMW M5 finished in Titan Silver (paint code #354) over a LeMans blue and black leather interior. This E39 M5 is powered by a 4.9-liter V8 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Highlights of the factory equipment include 18-inch style 67 “M” double spoke wheels, Xenon headlights with washers, heated and power-adjustable front seats, auto-dim and auto-dip mirrors, and a navigation system. The M5 features model specific bodywork including aerodynamic front and rear bumpers and M5 badges inlaid to the body side mouldings. The kidney grilles are black, and windows are lightly tinted. The headlights have been upgraded to Xenon units equipped with intensive cleaning washers, and fog lights are optioned below. Chrome tipped twin dual exhaust outlets are found at the back.
The car is further equipped with powered auto-dip mirrors, a sliding and tilting sunroof and an anti-theft alarm.
18” BMW badged black-chrome wheels are wrapped in Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 wheels measuring 245/40R18 in the front and 255/40R18 in the rear. This M5 is optioned with tire pressure control and dynamic stability control. The BMW M5 measures 188 inches long, 71 inches wide, and 57 inches high, with a 111 inch wheelbase and a curb weight of 4,024 lbs.
Inside the cabin, seating for five is upholstered in two-tone Le Mans Blue and Black premium leather. The sport seats up front are heated and 10-way powered with memory and lumbar support. The dash is finished with Black leather and Le Mans Blue leather is used for the door cards and sport seat inserts. The headliner is Anthracite suede. M-badging is found on the shifter knob, as well as on the door sills.
A 2001 M5 multi-function leather wrapped steering wheel with red and blue stitching fronts analog instrumentation with a 300 km/hr speedometer and a fuel level indicator to the left, and an 8K rpm tachometer to the right and temperature gauges to the right. Turn indicator lights are backlit with white light, an optional upgrade. Steering is a recirculating ball speed-sensitive design with a 14.7 steering ratio.
Comfort, convenience and entertainment features include a trip computer w/ remote control, park distance control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic air conditioning, cruise control, powered one-touch windows, a 6 CD changer with HiFi sound, telematics, and navigation with an LCD screen.
Powering the M5 is a naturally aspirated all aluminium 4.9-litre DOHC V8 engine, designated the S62 by BMW. Power is sent from the engine to the rear wheels via a Getrag 420G 6-speed manual transmission. The S62 engine features a dual row timing chain, dual Vanos camshafts and individual throttle bodies for each cylinder inside an intake plenum with a carbon fibre crest reading BMW MPower. The S62 can also be found in the BMW Z8, and is rated at 394 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 369 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 rpm when placed into the M5. With MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear, the M5 has a 25% maximum locking limited slip differential with a 3.15:1 ratio.
