Description
This is a 2005 Porsche 911 996 Turbo S finished in Arctic Silver Metallic (paint code #X1) over a black leather interior. It is powered by a water-cooled twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This is a US-spec Turbo S that was imported to Canada previously. This is 1 of only 186 6-speed manual coupes offered in North America for the single 2005 model year. This rare Mezger-powered 996 was optioned from factory with the carbon fibre interior package, electronically adjustable sport seats and a Porsche crest embossed in the arm rest lid. The seller has added a genuine RUF front bumper, a GT2 style rear spoiler, and Techart side skirts. The 996 version of the 911 was produced by Porsche from 1997 until 2006, with the Turbo-S being highest performing variant besides the GT-series. This 996 is currently registered in Alberta, Canada with an active and (Normal) registration status and approx. 39K-miles on the digital odometer.
For US bidders, this Porsche is directly importable as it a US-specification vehicle and has been registered in the USA previously. For more information on transport in Canada/USA and Import, please visit our Transport and Import page here.
The 911 underwent a clean sheet redesign in 1999, with a new chassis platform and a new water-cooled engine. The Turbo S has a body width of 72 inches, with a wider track than other 996 models. The rear wing intakes and quad pipe exhaust design are further distinguishing features of the Turbo.
This example has a RUF front bumper, a fixed GT2 style rear spoiler, and Techart side skirts. The seller mentions that the original decklid spoiler is included in the sale. The exterior of the Turbo features vented rear quarter-panels that feed air into the mirrored dual-intercoolers and a rear window wiper completes the exterior.
This Turbo S rides on 5-spoke Porsche centre-capped 18” Techart custom aluminium alloy wheels with yellow Porsche ceramic composite brakes (PCCB) in behind. The PCCB's were standard on all Turbo "S" 996 models.
Four passengers can be seated inside the cabin of this 911 996 Turbo S Coupe.
Interior options include a carbon fibre trim package, heated and electronically adjustable custom tailored leather sports seats, black floor mats with Turbo S lettering, a sport shifter, and footwell lighting. Aluminium faced instruments and rain-sensing wipers are standard features on 996 911. This Turbo S also has a sliding and tilting sunroof.
An adjustable leather-wrapped Carbon-fiber trimmed three-spoke steering wheel fronts an analog gauge cluster with integrated digital readouts. An 8K rpm tachometer is at the centre, a 200-mph speedometer and a battery voltmeter are to the left, and fuel, oil, and temperature gauges are to the right with an inset digital clock.
This Porsche 911 996 Turbo S coupe is powered by a rear-engine, horizontally opposed, K24 twin-turbocharged water-cooled engine - an all-aluminium 3.6-liter flat-6 generating 444 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque when new. It is paired with a Getrag G96 6-speed manual transmission driving all four wheels - this is 1 of only 186 units that arrived with a 6-speed in North America. In 2005, Porsche released the Turbo S with larger turbos, different intercoolers, and ECU tune and exhaust improvements. This 911 Turbo S is constructed with an independent suspension utilising a MacPherson strut design at the front and a multilink design at the rear, plus VarioCam Plus and stability management.
