This is a 2001 BMW E39 M5 finished in Carbon Schwarz metallic (paint code #416) over a Black Nappa Heritage leather interior. This E39 M5 is powered by a 4.9-liter V8 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Highlights of the factory equipment include 18-inch style 67 “M” double spoke wheels, Xenon headlights with washers, heated and power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and a navigation system. This M5 is currently registered in Alberta, Canada with approx. 136K-kms and a clean and (Normal) status. This M5 was sold new in Ontario and was purchased by BMW Calgary by the second owner in 2006. The current owner and seller is the thrid known owner after acquiring it in 2016. The seller mentions he has added just 6k-kms in his ~ 6 years of ownership. The sale includes the original manual, DVD, 2 sets of keys/fobs and the orginal M5 emboridered floor mats.

For US bidders, this M5 is importable after a compliance letter from BMW USA has been obtained. For more information on transport in Canada/USA and Import, please visit our Transport/Import page here.

The M5 Features model specific bodywork including an aerodynamic front/rear bumper and M5 badges molded into the exterior door trim. The original headlights have been replaced in favour of Hella Xenon European style “angel-eye” units. The exhaust is expelled via an Eisenmann Race-spec quad-tip muffler system which is said to be the only engine modification. Power is sent from the engine to the rear wheels via a manual 6-speed transmission with an aftermarket short-shifter. The 18” wheels are wrapped in Kuhmo Ecsta LS Sport tires measuring 245/40ZR18 in the front and 275/35ZR18 in the rear. The tread on these tires is said to be approxiamtely 40%. The chrome Kidney grills have been plasti-dipped flat black. The windows have been tinted 35% on all passenger windows. A set of DGR coilovers have been installed complete with camber plates and manual rebound adjustment. Maintenance records are viewable in the gallery and the seller mentions recent service includes a new battery, fuel pump and oil change.

Inside the cabin is seating for five upholstered in Black Nappa Heritage leather. The sport seats up front are 10-way powered and heated, with slide-out thigh supports. The dash is finished with black leather, and "M" and "M5" badging is found on the shift knob, as well as on the door sills. A leather wrapped three-spoke steering wheel with red and blue stitching fronts an analog instrumentation panel with a 300 km/hr speedometer and a fuel level indicator to the left, and an 8K rpm tachometer and temperature gauge to the right. Steering is a recirculating ball speed-sensitive design with a 14.7 steering ratio. Comfort, convenience and entertainment features include a trip computer, a BMW flip phone, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual zone climate control, cruise control, powered one-touch windows, illuminated entry, an anti-theft alarm, and navigation with an LCD screen. One incident is noted in the included Carproof report in 2003 that mentions damage to the "Right Centre". No insurance claim is shown associated with the incident so damage is assumed to be minor.

Powering the M5 is a naturally aspirated all aluminium 4.9-litre DOHC V8 engine, designated the S62 by BMW. Power is sent from the engine to the rear wheels via a Getrag 420G 6-speed manual transmission. The S62 engine features a dual row timing chain, dual Vanos camshafts and individual throttle bodies for each cylinder inside an intake plenum with a carbon fibre crest reading BMW MPower. The S62 can also be found in the BMW Z8, and is rated at 394 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 369 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 rpm when placed into the M5.
