The Mercedes-Benz CL600 is favoured by modern classic enthusiasts for its style and power. Absent a B-pillar splitting the front and rear windows, the side view of the car is unique. This coupe has been equipped with a factory-released AMG bodykit. It has a high, swooping boneline that emanates from the red/black and silver V12 Biturbo AMG badging at the front fender. Flush and tinted taillamps sit within a housing that are fully integrated into the body of the car. Self-levelling Xenon high-intensity discharge headlights sit astride daytime running lights in a clear housing. Three chrome horizontal slats complement the three pointed star centering the grille, and the front spoiler houses fog lights within a honeycomb patterned grill. The CL600 sits on a set of custom fabricated satin black 20” AMG alloy wheels with Mercedes-Benz hubcaps and five-thick spokes. These are wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact tires, 255/35 ZR 20 at the front and 275/35 ZR20 at the rear. The brakes are four-piston calipers in the front with drilled and ventilated rotors. The interior cabin of the Mercedes-Benz CL600 has all the elegant trappings of a luxury tourer, complete with burled walnut wood trim on the door panels, centre console, and heated steering wheel, and heated, ventilated, and massaging front bucket seats, with leather and Alcantara throughout, along with aluminium accents. Adults can be seated in the rear seats, and with the exclusion of B pillars and the thin C pillars, even rear passengers are treated to panoramic views from within. Dual zone climate control and interior air filtration add to each passenger's comfort. The entertainment system uses Benz’ COMAND interface, a Harman/Kardon premium stereo system with 11 speakers and 2 subwoofers, and satellite radio. Mercedes-Benz’ proprietary safety features include Active NightVision, anti-lock brakes with brake assist, traction control, stability control, and adaptive headlights. Other safety features include front, seat-mounted, curtain, and driver’s knee airbags, tire pressure monitoring, and a remote anti-theft alarm system.
The Mercedes-Benz CL600 is powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged 36-valve SOHC V12 generating 510 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 612 lb-ft of torque at just 1,800 rpm. This powers the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed shiftable automatic transmission. Shift buttons are located on the back of the steering wheel spokes. This coupe has been equipped with an aftermarket catback exhaust system. Mercedes-Benz have employed their proprietary Active Body Control (ABC) hydropneumatic suspension at all four corners, adjusting coil springs for stiffness, pitch control, and levelling as needed. An aftermarket Cat-back exhaust was installed under a prior ownership but the orginal mufflers are included in the sale.
