Description
This is a 1999 Fiat Barchetta finished in Grigio Steel Metallic (paint code #647) with just under 40k-kms, 2000 of these being added by the current owner in his two years of ownership. This lovely Italian roadster is currently registered in Montreal, QC with a clean title. It is powered by a 1.8-liter 16-valve inline-4 cylinder engine paired to a 5-speed manual transaxle. Prior to reaching Montreal in 2021, this vehicle was transported from Japan to Vancouver. The Quebec out-of-province inspection at the time was said to have returned no issues, and no damage or accidents have been claimed on the car. The Fiat Barchetta (“little boat” in Italian) is known for being mechanically accessible, well-balanced, and agile, with excellent handling. A spare tire and three keys are included in the sale.
For US bidders, this Barchetta is importable after a compliance letter from Fiat Italy has been obtained. If the highest and winning bidder is US-based the seller will acquire this letter. For more information on transport in Canada/USA and Import, please visit our Transport and Import page here.
This now vintage Fiat has a Grigio Steel Metallic finish and a black soft top. This is manually operated and fits tightly over its frame with a plastic rear window that looks to be in good, clear condition. The car sits on 15” OZ Racing silver alloy wheels with 195/55R15 85H Firestone Champion tires and disc brakes in behind. Notable design features include the flush and very thin pop-out door handles, a ridge running along the full side length of the body along with sweeping lines accentuating the lower body, body colour integrated mud flaps, FIAT badging on the hood and rear, and dual exhaust pipes.
The headlights and foglights are situated within a large black housing that slopes down from the front fenders. The interior of this 1999 Barchetta is black microfibre with body colour silver trim, and has a black leather dash and shifter, with leather accents on the door panels and bucket seats, which are accompanied by a wind deflector. Some fraying is present on the driver’s seat upholstery. The leather wrapped steering wheel has a 3-spoke design and fronts an analog instrument cluster with a 240 km/hr speedometer to the left, a 9000 redline tachometer in the centre, and fuel level and temperature gauges to the right. The car is equipped with power windows, power side mirrors, and air conditioning. The stereo uses a Fiat Addzest head unit. The centre console incorporates a lockable storage compartment. Barchetta script is found on the glove compartment and on the floor mats.
This FWD 1999 Fiat Barchetta is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-4 cylinder engine capable of producing 130 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 121 lb-ft of torque at 4,300 rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle, which functions to both change gears and to split torque evenly between the wheels. The Barchetta has a zero-to-100 of 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/hr. This engine has twin cams and 16 valves with variable timing. The owner states that the vehicle has been serviced within the last month, with the oil and filters being replaced. The chassis of the Barchetta is of unibody construction and utilises an independent suspension with coil springs.
