Description
This E-Type Series III roadster is a 1974 example, finished in Regency Red over a Biscuit tan leather interior. It is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Features include a black folding soft top, a matching tonneau cover, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” chrome wheels, quadruple carburetors, a wooden-rim steering wheel, and AM/FM radio. The seller - Alex Hayden-Luck is a Co-founder of Formula Auctions and notes he is the third known owner. The E-Type is registered in his name with an Active and Normal registration status in the province of Alberta. Manufacturer’s literature, tools and documents are included in the sale.
For US bidders:
This E-Type is directly importable without any modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
This E-Type is finished in Regency Red and features a black soft top, uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, early Series-III bumperettes, and a power antenna. The seller notes that the original US-spec bumpers (front and rear) are included in the sale. The hood has been recently refinished with all new trim and headlight seals. The seller notes the rest of the body has been refinished under a previous ownership.
The 15″ chrome-finished steel wheels are mounted with Dunlop Elite Seventy thin-whitewall tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The seller mentions that the front rotors are new, along with new brake lines, power steering lines, and front shock absorbers. The E-brake is noted to require adjusting and/or new E-brake pads.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in biscuit tan leather, complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpet. Interior amenities include an AM/FM radio, wind-up windows, and a locking glovebox. Although this E-Type was originally equipped with air conditioning from the factory, it has since been removed. The seller notes that the entire original A/C system is included in the sale for potential reinstallation by the new owner.
The wood steering wheel is a new aftermarket unit, designed to evoke the look of the Series 1 & 2 E-Type wheels. It frames Smiths instrumentation, including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock is mounted in the center stack, along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 88k-miles.
The 5.3-liter V12 engine was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The entire cooling system has recently been refreshed, including an all-aluminum radiator, SPAL fans, new hoses, thermostats, and coolant. This E-Type has undergone a recent mechanical refresh, which includes a new clutch kit, oil change, air filters, heater control valve, ignition control module, spark plugs and wires, valve cover gaskets, various oil gaskets, brake and clutch reservoirs, washer fluid motor, and carburetor gaskets.
