Description
This auction presents an opportunity to own a 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Westfalia in Flash Silver Metallic paint, sporting a grey cloth interior. The vehicle was built by Westfalia-Werke, a reputable builder of Volkswagen camper vans based in the Westfalia region of Germany. The current owner has owned this van since 2018 and has maintained it well, having serviced it regularly. According to the seller, it has been driven approximately 20k kilometers (12.4k miles) during their ownership.
For US bidders, this Westfalia is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
Equipped with a 2.1L flat-four cylinder engine that is paired with a 3-speed automatic transaxle, this Westfalia also features swiveling front captain chairs, a kitchenette that includes a fold-out table, sink, stove, refrigerator, and cabinetry. Additionally, it features a pop-up camper roof, connections for 120-volt power and water tanks, and upgraded LED lighting.
The vehicle also comes with an extendable awning, a rear tow hitch, and a set of 14” black Volkswagen "dog dish" wheels with chrome hubcaps wrapped in WestLake Radial SC301 tires, installed in 2018.
Additional photos of the undercarriage and extra parts included in the sale are show in the gallery below.
The grey cloth interior has a fold-out sleeper bench and a host of amenities, including storage compartments, privacy curtains, an auxiliary battery, and an electric pump for the auxiliary fresh water tank.
The seller notes that the electric pump and auxiliary battery have been replaced under their ownership. All gauges and accessories are said to be functional except for the air conditioning unit, which has not yet been updated to use R134 refrigerant.
Imperfections including some rock chips/scratches are shown in the galleries imperfections category.
The Westfalia is powered by a 2.1L flat-four cylinder engine that drives the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transaxle. The current owner has made various upgrades and repairs to the vehicle, including replacing rubber fuel lines, brake lines and fluid, fuel tank, pump and filter, vent tanks, ball joints, hookup boxes, and upgrading the gear reduction style starter. Additional images and a clean CARFAX report are provided in the gallery, and the odometer shows approximately 271k kilometers (168k miles).
