This second generation M-Class SUV, factory designated the W164, is built on a unibody platform and shares many components with the long body GL-Class of cars. Versions built from 2015 on are referred to as GLE-Class vehicles. This ML63 has a front fascia with three horizontal chrome grille slats with a prominent Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star at the centre. This is framed by Bi-Xenon adaptive headlights, corner-illuminating fog lights, and a U-shaped chrome piece for the lower valence surrounding the rectangular air inlet. This 4MATIC AWD ML63 is powered by a 6.3-liter DOHC 32-valve AMG V8 paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission. It is factory rated at 503 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 465 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm. This has a claimed zero-to-60 mph of 4.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/hr. The ML63 has three driving modes, and provides a race timer to record lap times. It employs sport-tuned Airmatic semi-active suspension with adaptive damping, driver-adaptive shifting, AMG SpeedShift, and an AMG sport exhaust system.
