Description

Introducing a meticulously maintained classic truck with a rich history, now available for auction. The current owner acquired this remarkable classic in original condition in September 2017, following its import in June 2014 with an Oklahoma state title. Over a span of three years, from September 2017 to September 2020, the truck underwent a comprehensive overhaul, rebuild, and restoration process, transforming it into a stunning piece of automotive history. During this restoration, it was carefully repainted in its original Black color, restoring its timeless beauty.

For US bidders:
This Ford is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport in Canada/USA and Import, please visit our Transport/Import page here.

This truck has been thoughtfully upgraded with high-quality components to enhance both its performance and aesthetics. Notable upgrades include a new frame sourced from Williams Street Rods in Illinois, a Heidts front end featuring tubular control arms, a sway bar, and Power Rack and Pinion steering. The front brake rotors have been drilled and slotted for improved braking performance, and a dual reservoir power master cylinder has been installed.

The cab and body have received equal attention to detail. New front frame supports, inner and outer cab corners, and an OEM Ford floor from Mid-West Early Ford in Ohio have been meticulously installed. All metal components were carefully repaired, and epoxy painted to ensure longevity. The running boards were replaced with new ones from Howell Sheet Metal in Texas, and a new OEM 1940 Ford pickup box from Mid-West Early Ford in Ohio was installed, complete with a red oak wood floor and stainless strips. The body, hood, and fenders underwent extensive restoration, including sandblasting or dipping and epoxy painting in PPG Black.

All new chrome components, provided by Bob Drake reproductions, contribute to the truck's polished appearance. The green-tinted glass was sourced from Bobs Hot Rod Glass in Oregon.
Under the hood, you'll find an L48 350 Corvette engine, resealed and equipped with new water pump, alternator, fuel pump, oil pan, and a rebuilt carburetor and starter. The transmission is a fully rebuilt 3-speed automatic, and the differential features a rebuilt 3:00 gear ratio. The truck rides on American Racing Chrome Torque Thrust wheels fitted with BF Goodrich T/A tires.

Notable extras include an aluminum radiator, Cooling Components Electric 2-speed engine fan, CPP column-shifted tilt steering column, reproduction Ford steering wheel, Classic Instrument gauges, EZ wiring harness, custom exhaust system, extended range fuel tank, battery shut-off, leather seats, and a fully functional cowl vent. Please note that this truck does not have air conditioning.

The truck has been recently serviced and is in excellent condition. There are only five small lines within a one-inch area of the lower right rear fender that exhibit paint defects, likely caused by a stone thrown by a tire. Spare parts, half a gallon of paint, and used hood chrome molding are included in the sale. The seller has owned this classic for six years and has driven it for approximately 4,000 miles since its rebuild. The truck is currently located in Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada, and is lien-free. The speedometer displays miles per hour. Don't miss the opportunity to own this meticulously restored and thoughtfully upgraded classic truck with a rich history.
