Description

Get ready to take on the road in style with this outstanding 1979 GMC K15 SWB 4X4. Over the past 3 years, the seller has carefully curated and upgraded this truck to deliver a memorable driving experience. The original engine has been swapped out for a freshly rebuilt LS1 6.0L engine with .30 sized over pistons and a mild performance cam. Paired with a 4L60 4-speed electronic transmission and a stock transfer case, this truck offers the perfect blend of power and reliability. To complement the LS engine, Dakota Digital gauges were installed, and the odometer now displays just under 3000 kilometers.

For US bidders:
This Chevy is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport in Canada/USA and Import, please visit our Transport/Import page here.

This factory short wheelbase 4x4 retains its rugged charm while benefiting from modern upgrades. The GM computer has been reprogrammed and rewired using a new aftermarket harness to accommodate the LS engine. A new fuel tank has been relocated to the rear between the frame rails, complete with new lines and an in-tank high-pressure fuel pump, all controlled by a Corvette-style pressure regulator and pressure gauge near the fuel rails. The LS engine's intake features a low-profile styled aluminum plenum, and it's equipped with a 102MM throttle-body, new sensors, injectors, plugs, and wires. Both the engine and transmission are kept cool by electric fan systems, while a professionally installed dual exhaust system delivers a distinctive throaty exhaust note from headers to stainless-tipped tailpipes. The steering system has been thoroughly inspected and aligned, with new tie rods and a remanufactured steering box. The brakes have been refreshed with new front pads and rotors, along with rear drum shoes and a new master cylinder. A complete suspension overhaul includes a 3-4" lift kit with leaf springs on all four corners and Rancho shocks, providing both style and off-road capability. Rolling on stock 15" GM rally rims with chrome rings, this truck features Pro Comp Extreme AT 33/12.5/15 tires that are approximately 3 years old.

The truck's exterior tells a story of meticulous attention to detail. Recently professionally painted in a striking 'Mica' dark color, all sheet metal was carefully removed for painting, ensuring a flawless finish inside fenders, under the hood, and behind the cab. New front fenders, a powder-coated OE radiator support, new rocker panels (inner and outer), and new short fleet-side box panels have been installed.

The box floor was sandblasted and treated with POR 15 underneath, with a Rhino box liner on the top surface. The tailgate, doors, and hood are original GM panels and remain in excellent condition. New wheel well chrome, front and rear bumpers, and new glass, including the original rear slider and side glass, further enhance the truck's overall appeal. A new windshield and wiper system, complete with a new wiper motor and metal wiper blades, ensure clear visibility.

Inside, the custom leather interior adds a touch of luxury to your driving experience. A leather-wrapped dash, new leather-covered stock seat, and sound-deadening mat under new carpeting, including the back panel, create a comfortable and refined atmosphere. Dakota Digital gauges have been thoughtfully integrated under the stock dash bezel, while a new custom steering wheel completes the updated interior. The original GM options list included tilt wheel and a slider rear window. A 3-speed heater blower motor has been recently replaced, and while the truck features an original GM radio installed in the dash, it is currently disconnected (though believed to be in working condition).
