Available for auction is this 1988 Porsche 944S finished in Zermatt Silver Metallic over a Burgundy interior. As one of only 2,226 examples produced for the 1988 model year, this Canadian-market 944S is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four engine producing 190 HP. The 944S featured significant upgrades over its predecessors, including a dual-overhead-cam 16-valve cylinder head derived from the 928 S4, larger anti-roll bars, and strengthened wheel bearings.
This example has been meticulously maintained and shows approximately 37,500 kilometers (23,500 miles) on its odometer. It is now being offered for auction by its third owner, out of Nampa, Idaho, who notes that the car has always been stored in a climate-controlled environment and is currently registered in the state of Idaho.
The exterior of this 944S is finished in Zermatt Silver Metallic (LY7Y), distinguishable by its “16 Ventiler” script side moldings and “S” designation on the rear. The seller reports that the paint remains in excellent condition, having recently undergone a paint correction and ceramic coating process. A paint protection film has also been applied to the hood.
Exterior features include pop-up headlights with upgraded LED bulbs, a rear window wiper, headlight washers, fog lights, a dealer-installed rear reflector panel, and 16” Phone Dial wheels fitted with Yokohama Advan A052 tires dated from 2021.
