Located in Kleinberg, Ontario (North of Toronto) this is a 1967 Honda Z50M finished in red and ivory with a tartan vinyl seat and red frame. It is powered by a 49 cc air-cooled OHC single-cylinder four-stroke engine with a 3-speed semi-automatic transmission. The odometer reads 1,549 miles. The Honda Z50M was the first Z50 Series of mini bikes released by Honda, and is thus the most rarely seen - it was exported uniquely to European, Australian, and Canadian markets. This example that has been completely restored to factory specifications and has not even had a single tank of gas go through the engine. This bike includes registration papers in the sellers name and it is road legal in Canada. Sold by the Japanese automaker from 1967 to 1969, the Z50M is a lightweight, affordable, gently powered motorcycle perfect for off-roading.
For US bidders, this Honda Z50 is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.

The fuel tank on this Honda Z50M is coloured ivory to match the fenders, and is supported by a simple tubular steel frame painted red. This is the bike's original paint finish. The fuel tank has a Honda wing logo and Honda script. This minibike has a thickly cushioned seat upholstered in a vinyl tartan pattern that sits above a combination toolbox and tail light bracket. The foot pegs, handlebars, and headlight bezel are chrome. Solid-disc 5” wheels are wrapped with new Kenda tires with semi-knobby treads. Expanding drum brakes are utilised at both ends.
The wheels can be removed by removing the adjusting nuts, brake cables, drive chain, and axle nuts.

The curved chrome handlebars are mounted on a rigid front fork. These are swivel-down folding for easy storage. The ignition switch is located beneath the fuel tank. The front brake lever and throttle grip are attached to the right handlebar. Driver and passenger foot rests are mounted on either side, and the kick starter pedal is on the right. The kickstand and gear change pedal are on the left. This Honda Z50M has a 5” headlight and an amber tail light.
The smaller headlight indicates that this example was originally exported to Canada and is a Canadian market example. The headlight bucket integrates a 30 mph speedometer with a 5-digit odometer.

This Honda Z50M is powered by a rebuilt numbers-matching 49 cc air-cooled OHC single-cylinder four-stroke engine. The engine is believed to be original to the bike and stamping on the carburator is shown as "GB*Z50MB". This is rated at 2.5 horsepower and 2 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheel with a 3-speed semi-automatic centrifugal clutch transmission, utilising a two-up shift pattern and a drive chain. The bike’s exhaust system is equipped with a chrome heat shield and bolts to the right side of the engine, with a muffler that’s located in front of the rear wheel.
