Description
Introducing a meticulously restored 1952 F-6 COE truck showcasing a captivating metallic blue/green paint finish. This truck has an intriguing history—originating from airport duty, transporting fuel to aircraft, then transitioning into farm life, hauling hay bales after being acquired by a farmer.
With its limited use on public roads and credible origin story, the odometer reading of under 17k-miles is believed to be accurate. The current owner acquired this unique piece a decade ago, and although the engine is believed to be original and rebuilt under a previous owner, there is no documentation to verify.
The seller notes that the brake system is inoperable, necessitating attention before hitting the road; thus, it must be currently trailered by the new owner.
For US bidders:
This Ford is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport in Canada/USA and Import, please visit our Transport/Import page here.
Presently the truck is locaed in Alberta, Canada and will be sold on a bill of sale and it is currently unregistered. This vintage Ford COE truck is a testament to a bygone era's heavy-duty capabilities, boasting a gross weight rating of 16,000 lbs in its F-6 classification.
The Cab Over Engine (COE) design, popular for its potential for a shorter wheelbase, was a staple for heavy-duty trucks, and this piece, produced in limited numbers, stands as a unique and sought-after collector's item today. In terms of restoration, this COE truck has undergone an extensive overhaul, with a refinished cab and interior.
While most of the restoration work is completed, a rear deck needs to be mounted to the frame. The 20” wheels have been refinished silver and wear Dynastar tires. Many photos during the restoration are included in the sale and are available for viewing in the gallery.
The interior presents a blend of comfort and functionality, featuring spring-supported seats, essential amenities, and vintage-inspired design elements. The exterior boasts a custom-painted finish, contributing to its overall appeal. With just a few finishing touches left to complete this restoration project and having been kept in impeccable condition since the restoration commenced, this Ford COE truck stands for a perfect opportunity for a collector or builder alike.
At the helm, a three-spoke steering wheel is accompanied by a 90-mph speedometer and an array of gauges. These gauges provide crucial information such as coolant temperature, fuel level, charging status, and oil pressure. Additionally, the odometer, with a five-digit display, records a total of 17k-miles, with only 10 being added in the last decade.
Within the cab, the 239ci Flathead V8 has been painted in a vibrant red and is paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range rear axle. The original wax stamping on the block has been located and is pictured in the gallery. Both VIN plates are located under the hood and pictured in the gallery as well.
