Description
This is a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII finished in Innsbruck White (paint code: W83). It is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4G63 Inline-four cylinder engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Evo is a RHD Japanese-spec car that was imported and is now currently registered in BC, Canada. The seller has owned the vehicle since August 2020, and states that he has added approximately 10,000 kms. While a Canadian Carfax won’t show it, the seller states that he is aware of an accident that occurred while the Evo was in Japan under a previous ownership.
Factory highlights include Xenon headlights, Brembo brakes, Enkei wheels and a carbon fibre rear wing. The seller mentions that spare parts included in the sale are the stock floor mats, stock air intake, and 2 keys.
The exterior of the Evo features wider front fenders and rear quarter panels when compared to the base lancer. An aerodynamic front bumper and rear wing are also specific to the Evolution model which helps to increase downforce. The Factory suspension has been replaced in favour of a Tein coil-over kit with camber plates at the front.
The 17” Enkei wheels are shod with RPX-988 Rovelo wheels that measure 225/45ZR17 at all four corners. The front bumper has been modified with an aftermarket vent on the drivers side to allow for better ventilation for the accessory oil cooler.
The seller notes imperfections including scratches, paint fade, wheel rash, cracks in bumpers and curb rash on the wheels. Pictures of the aforementioned are included in the gallery below.
The seller has included a video showing a combination of warm revs, walk-around, driving and fly-bys!
The cabin is trimmed in blue/grey cloth on the seats and door cards while a dark grey carpet pulls the interior together. The front seats are Recaro’s with high bolstering to keep the driver and passenger held in place.
The instrument panel locates the tachometer in the centre and the speedometer to the left reads up to 270 km/hr. The digital odometer shows just under 138k-kms. The seller has added an aftermarket Alpine double-din touchscreen head-unit that features bluetooth and various other connectivity options. The original shift knob has been replaced in favour of an aluminum piece.
This Evo VIII features Mitsubishi’s full time 4WD system, with a limited slip differential at the centre, and a mechanically limited slip differential at the rear axle. The Sports ABS computer regulates braking force at each wheel independently.
The turbocharged and inter-cooled 4G63 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine had a factory rated output of 271 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque when new. Aftermarket engine modifications including aluminum intercooler piping and a cold-air intake have increased these factory power figures slightly. The engine is front and transverse mounted and features DOHC valvetrain with 4 valves per cylinder. The seller mentions that the car had the oil changed approximately 5000 kms ago.
