This is a 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne finished in Cardinal Red (paint code #5106) over a red interior. This Biscayne is powered by a 6.7-liter V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The Chevrolet Biscayne was produced by the American automaker from 1958 to 1975. The car was named for Biscayne Bay near Miami, Florida, sharing a tradition at Chevrolet for coastal city referencing nameplates like the Bel Air and Malibu.
This third generation Chevrolet Biscayne was mostly restored by the previous owner in the Fall of 2021. It is currently registered in British Columbia with a clean and (Normal) status. The seller mentions that he has a headliner, sun visors, trunk mats, and interior carpet to be included in the sale.
For US bidders, this Biscayne is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
This full-size two-door Biscayne had an original factory finish of Pure White (paint code #5111) and has been repainted Cardinal Red. Its front fascia features dual twin headlights with recessed chrome surrounds, a chrome bumper, and a chrome grille. The front lip of the hood bears a Chevrolet emblem and Chevrolet embossed lettering, and the curved windshield and rear window glass have chrome bezels. 409 emblems feature on the front fenders, and fender skirts are found at the back.
Biscayne script decorates the car’s long rear overhang, which bucked the contemporary trend by forgoing prominent tail fins in favour of a sporty squared off look. The rear bumper is chrome with twin dual tail lights above, one set of scallops being installed into the trunk lid. The car rides on 15” red wheels with Chevy hubcaps wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial tires, P215/65R15 at the front and P235/70R15 at the back.
Though the Biscayne’s interior is short of completion, its red dash and steering wheel are well appointed with plenty of brightwork on the instruments. An aftermarket Moon tachometer has been installed on the steering column, and the instrumentation hosts a strip-style speedometer above temperature and fuel gauges. The dash is further equipped with heater/defroster sliders, an AM radio, and a locking glove box.
The floor is neatly welded and painted, and a floor-mounted Hurst shifter has been installed, replacing the car’s original column shifter. A headliner, sun visors, trunk mats, and interior carpet are included in the sale, as noted by the seller. Door cards and seats are up to the buyers discretion and creativity.
This 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne is powered by a genuine 409 V8 big block with a custom crankshaft bumping the displacement up to 461 ci. This 6.7-liter V8 is mated to a M22 Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, replacing the cars original inline-6 and 4-on-the-tree drivetrain. This drag-ready powerhouse has been equipped with an Edelbrock intake manifold and Edelbrock cylinder heads, ceramic headers, a Holley Street Avenger carburetor, and has a modified ignition and a 3.55 Trak Lok differential.
