This is a 1977 Porsche 911S Targa finished in Black (paint code #A1) over a black interior. This classic luxury coupe is powered by a 2.7-liter flat-six paired to a 5-speed manual transaxle. Highlights of the factory options include a Blaupunkt radio, forged alloy wheels, Koni shocks, cruise control, a leather steering wheel, fog lamps, and power windows. This vehicle was purchased by the seller two years ago, and is currently registered in Alberta with a clean and (Normal) status, with apx. 64K-miles on the odometer, 1000 of these being added by the seller during his ownership period. This Porsche 911S was once purchased new from the Porsche Calgary dealership, according to the seller, who believes himself to be the fourth owner.
For US bidders, this Porsche 911S is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
This black targa top Porsche 911S has recessed headlamps with chrome surrounds centred by a Porsche emblem on the long, low hood. Amber turn indicators wrap around the black diving board bumpers, which have distinctive accordion compression at all four corners. The rocker panels are plated with chrome, and Targa script and vertical gills are placed on the B pillar. A chrome 911S emblem is placed on the boot lid which has air vents for the engine below.
The bar of tail lights extends across the entire rear fascia, and features large Porsche script in black. This 911S rides on factory upgraded five-spoke 15” forged alloy wheels shod in Pirelli P4 tires, 195/65R15 at the front and back. Stopping power is managed by fixed 2-piston ventilated disc brakes. The seller notes that some paint damage is present, and visible in the gallery. The Porsche 911S is 169 inches long, 64 inches wide, and 52 inches high, with an 89 inch wheelbase and a curb weight of 2,315 lbs.
Inside, the Porsche 911S Targa has seating for four upholstered in two-tone black and grey leather with ventilated and ribbed inserts. The seller mentions that this interior was restored by the previous owner. Factory options include a Blaupunkt radio, air conditioning, a raised steering wheel hub and leather steering wheel, cruise control, an electric antenna, 2 loudspeakers in the shelf below the rear window, a centre console, and power windows.
A four-spoke Porsche steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation, including a central 8K rpm tachometer, an oil temperature and pressure gauge to the left, and a 180 mph speedometer to the right, along with a VDO Quartz-Zeit analog clock. An OEM CD player has been installed.
This Porsche 911S Targa is powered by its original 2.7-liter flat-six cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed manual transaxle. This powerhouse is factory rated at 165 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 176 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm, with a top speed and zero-to-60 of 137 mph and 8.4 seconds, respectively. It uses K-Jetronic continuous fuel injection. Extensive servicing was performed on the engine this year at Alpine Works, including reset cam timing, a new fuel injector, new valve covers, and engine compartment insulation. The clutch disc and pressure plate were also replaced. Further details on the engine overhaul can be seen in the documents gallery. Factory options include an engine compartment light, and Koni shocks.
