Description
This is a 2001 BMW E39 M5 finished in Carbon Schwarz metallic (paint code #416) over an M-Texture Alcantara interior. Production numbers show that there was only 29 cars produced for the North American market equipped with the M-tex interior. 27 of which were offered in the Canadian market. This E39 M5 is powered by a 4.9-liter V8 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Highlights of the factory equipment include 18-inch style 67 “M” double spoke wheels, Xenon headlights with washers, heated and power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and a navigation system. This M5 is currently registered in British Columbia, Canada with approx. 127K-kms and a clean and (Normal) status. This M5 was sold new in British Columbia, spent some time in California and then was purchased by the current owner and seller in 2013. The seller has included a Carproof report from when he purchased the vehicle which shows no records of any accidents or claims. The seller mentions he has not had any accidents or claims during his ownership period.

The M5 Features model specific bodywork including an aerodynamic front/rear bumper and M5 badges molded into the exterior door trim. The exterior of the M5 is entirely original and free from modification. The seller mentions that he believes the paint to be original on all panels. The exhaust is expelled via an original quad-tip muffler system. Power is sent from the engine to the rear wheels via a manual 6-speed transmission. The 18” wheels are wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact tires measuring 245/40ZR18 in the front and 275/35ZR18 in the rear.
Inside the cabin is seating for five upholstered in Black Nappa Heritage leather with M-Texture Alcantara seat inserts . The sport seats up front are 10-way powered and heated, with slide-out thigh supports. The dash is finished with black leather, and "M" and "M5" badging is found on the shift knob, as well as on the door sills. A leather wrapped three-spoke steering wheel with red and blue stitching fronts an analog instrumentation panel with a 300 km/hr speedometer and a fuel level indicator to the left, and an 8K rpm tachometer and temperature gauge to the right. Steering is a recirculating ball speed-sensitive design with a 14.7 steering ratio. Comfort, convenience and entertainment features include a trip computer, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual zone climate control, cruise control, powered one-touch windows, illuminated entry, an anti-theft alarm, and navigation with an LCD screen. Final trimming includes brushed aluminum accents on the dash, centre console and door cards.
Powering the M5 is a naturally aspirated all aluminium 4.9-litre DOHC V8 engine, designated the S62 by BMW. Power is sent from the engine to the rear wheels via a Getrag 420G 6-speed manual transmission. The S62 engine features a dual row timing chain, dual Vanos camshafts and individual throttle bodies for each cylinder inside an intake plenum with a carbon fibre crest reading BMW MPower. The S62 can also be found in the BMW Z8, and is rated at 394 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 369 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 rpm when placed into the M5. The seller mentions a recent service was completed in September 22' and a new battery was installed just last week. Included in the sale is a set of new lower fog lights (to replace the one cracked one). Also a hood bra and car cover are included in the sale.
