Description
This is a 2008 BMW M3 finished in Jet Black (paint code #668) over a Black Novillo leather interior. This E92 M3 is powered by a 4.0-liter S65 V8 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. This is a stock Canadian spec M3 with approximately 184K-kms on the odometer currently registered in British Columbia with a clean and (Normal) status. The Carfax located in the gallery shows history of minor accidents and claims throughout the years. Common failure points among these E9X M3's are the throttle actuators and the need to replace the connecting rod bearings. Both have been recently replaced on this M3 within the last few hundred kms. This M3 is particularly rare having been spec'd without navigation (for a cleaner looking dash) and with a carbon fiber roof panel.
For US bidders, this M3 is importable after a compliance letter from BMW has been obtained. If the highest and winning bidder is US-based, the seller will acquire this letter. For more information on transport within Canada and import to the USA, please visit our Transport/Import page here.
M3 specific fender vents and chrome kidney grilles are framed by Xenon headlights and foglights, and the exterior mirrors are heated. This M3 comes equipped with an air dam, and the trunk lid has a colour-matched lip spoiler.
The car is further equipped with rain-sensing wipers, twin dual exhaust outlets, and Dynamic Stability Control. 19” forged 220 wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires at the front, sized 245/35ZR19, and Continental tires sized 265/35ZR19 at the back. Stopping power is managed by vented and cross-drilled disc brakes at all corners.
The BMW M3 measures 182 inches long, 70 inches wide, and 56 inches high, with a 109 inch wheelbase.
Inside the cabin, seating for four is upholstered in Black Novillo leather. An M badged tilting and telescopic leather-wrapped wheel with tri-colour stitching commands the M3 with multi-functional controls including cruise control, voice command, volume controls, and more.
This fronts an analog instrumentation panel with a 330 km/hr speedometer with an inset fuel level indicator to the left, a 9K rpm tachometer with an inset oil pressure gauge to the right, and an orange illuminated digital display below. Steering is a speed-sensitive rack and pinion design.
M3 badging is found on the leather wrapped shifter and resin coated door sills. Comfort, convenience and entertainment features include powered front seats, a CD player, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a trip computer, and keyless entry.
The M3 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre DOHC V8 engine with 4 valves per cylinder, designated the S65 by BMW. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission and a variable locking limited slip differential. The S65 engine features dual Vanos variable valve timing and an intake plenum with an ///M V8 emblem. The S65 is rated at 414 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque when new. Suspension is fully independent with coil springs at all corners. As previously mentioned, both common faults with the S65 engine have been taken care of with the replacement of the the throttle body actuators, rod bearings and rod bolts. The replacement bots and bearings are ACL Custom Clearance bearings w/ ARP Bolts for improved clearance. Further recent service includes engine mounts, oil pan gasket, and an oil analysis prior to bearing replacement. All this work was completed at 184,392-kms.
